ya minimum wage jobs make it hard to do...it's even hard to support just ONE person on that kind of income. yep...mine is a custom setting now....in PLATINUM....I treated myself last Christmas...didn't just want to sell the diamond because I would have gotten NOTHING!! But I got the platinum setting on-sale...they tweaked it to customize it and did the work for free and it trippled the value of my ring...

Reality Check.....
My 1.75 engagement diamond appraises for around $15,600. I have papers to prove it. However I can PROMISE you that Mr. Topless paid NO WHERE near that amount. In fact... its not even in the same galaxy. Just because something appraises at one amount does not mean that is what you pay retail.
However.... the story is pretty sad...
