Martin Guitar questions

Post by CrznDnUS1 »

I might be looking to purchase a Martin guitar in the future (like a year or two down the road :D ) and was wondering if anyone here can give me some definate info. Are all the models made in the USA? I was looking at their site and a few other sites like mguitar.com and music123.com and it seems like they are all made in the USA, but I find that hard to beleive in this day of imports. I won't be able to afford anything more that $600-$700 which is like the bottom of the line and I know from such companies like Fender for the lower end they usually are made overseas or at least over the border. If they are made here I am all for that and will pay the extra money. Hooray for the USA! :P

actually the fender acoustics generally are all made in Korea.

If you are looking for a solid US made guitar look at Taylor Guitars. Made in El Cajon , CA.

In your price range you can get a fine guitar without the worry.

I work for a high end guitar retailer if youhave any questins or need help in finding the right guitar for you. PM me

The Martin factory is not far from Allentown, PA. They have an EXCELLENT tour of the plant. While waiting you can just pull an instrument from it's hanger and play. It is a great FREE afternoon, check the website for when they run, thay can answer all of your questions.

but no one still has answered my question if "all or some" of the Martin's are made in the US. Any takers? BTW, I have e-mail Martin and am awaiting an answer. Fender nor Taylor are one of my options.

Why not Fender? I just bought a Strat and I love it. You can't beat the tone on one (except maybe a Les Paul Gibson!) Plus, my Fender was built in the USA!

My parents gave me a D18 in 1967. My cousin found it ...and its hardshell case....in a Dallas hock shop. It sounds better today than it did the day I got it. Good luck on your search for something made in the USA. :D

No jab intended. Was only trying to share the quality of a Martin as it ages and as far as I know, they are made in Pennsylvania. :)

If I could play guitar, I'd buy a Martin (All made in Nazareth, PA, as far as I know, but the Martin site isn't completely specific. cfisch, have you tried calling the factory and asking?)
