How does it match up under the "criteria" list thing?

Chicago isn't making a very good showing. But if this or any other more local events happen in the area (in the summer), I can look into getting the Harbor house patio at Waukegan's South harbor depending on the size of the crew. We had my sister's wedding shower there. Good atmosphere for 20-30 folks.

a) Central US - it's easier to get to and cheaper if you don't have to spend more than 2-3 hours in the air. While it would be nice to have a phlocking in LA/SEA/NYC/MIA, folks from the opposite side of the country have a much more expensive trip than the relative locals.

b) Good transportation, preferably so that those inbound don't have to rent a car to get around to everything (or even worse, rent one and then hae to leave it parked in an expensive lot for multiple days)

c) Other things to do in town: While Omaha is a very cool city for example, you can only see "The Woodsmen of the World" Ins. Co. Bldg. once, or be chased by wharf-rats down by the ConAgra Bldg. a couple times before the novelty goes away. Granted, you can do it with different groups of BNers, but... (you see what I am trying to say tho, I am sure).

d) Just making sure that everyone who wants to make it to this, can; and that participation in this thing grows. The key to doing that is getting as many people to feel included, and like they can make the run.

Yes, just found the list a few pages back. Sure Denver fits the list and when you start checking costs and availability for airfare you will be suprised that Denver is not all that expensive and also is now convenient with more flights.
You mention the coasts...they are actually sometimes cheaper getting to and more direct than say Chicago or Indy. I would think southern Cal, Southern Florida, even east coast such as Charelston SC and Long Island are very reasonable and accessable. Just my .02 8)

They also fly to Vegas, warm weather there as well. Now that I have stirred the pot........

I was hoping the Chicago location would happen, but it does not look promising at this point. I have seen some posts that make a lot of sense about the timing of the event somewhat influencing the location, I hope we can keep that as part of the decision making process. I also agree with the thoughts that no matter when we try to make this happen, it's not going to fit into everyone's schedule. Is the next step, once a location is set or narrowed, to determine a time frame?

I was rootin' for Chicago too, but if I need to reallocate my vote, I'd change it to Nashville.

But I really want Denver.

Maybe 2007, what would be the best time of the summer to be there? Is May or June too early?

I'm not trying to be a smart a$$, but how do you know and when are they scheduled? I could see everyone benefitting from having that knowledge sooner than later.

I voted for St.Louis because I am an hour away and know it well. However Nashville would be different and phun. Indy or Chicago would be ok too as there are CIP's there and also within four hours drive time.Either way,it sounds fun and can't wait for a decision. Let's getur done! :D
