Anchovies Anyone?

Over the holidays, I tried a pickled pepper stuffed with cheese and anchovie served as an appetizer.

It was yummy.

I always assumed anchovies were gross, but they were a nice salty-add to the spicy treat.

Anyone else like anchovies? I'm thinking about trying them on pizza...

I love 'em.. but on very few things.. With cheese and crackers, or in my Caesars Salad. NOT on pizza.

I figured since they were a "salty" you might like them. I'm a bit nervous about trying them on pizza too. Would be a shame to ruin pizza if it didn't pan out.

i love anchovies......in a salad........with crackers and cheese......once in a while out of the can........tried them on pizza wasn't bad but not a favorite.......stuffed in a olive in a martini!

I've only tried them once, on a Caesar Salad at my dad's country club (so I assume it was prepared "correctly.") Just too salty.

I'll take my salt on a margarita glass, thank you.

I think they look pretty gross, sitting in all that oily greasy substance.

They do at that... no arguing that. But MOST folks who serve them some way usually drain them, best on a paper towel.

Yes, they're very fishy and salty, but I like sardines, caviar, and sushi, too.

Mal IMHO they are the bestest on a full out Combo Pizza..

Yup, I like 'em. Good source of calcium, if you can handle the salt and oil.
I also like kippers on toast for breakfast.

(Out of courtesy, I order my pizza anchovies on the side whenever possible.)

That's what I've heard. For non-anchovie-on-pizza-likers, even when anchovies are only on 1/2 of the pizza, the whole thing still tastes/smells like anchovies.

Hubby won't go near them in any way, shape, or form so I think I might have to fly solo on my anchovie pizza adventure.
