I know a lot of you know and have seen A1A play, so I thought you might enjoy this story:

A1A played a 40th birthday party last night for a man who was turning 40 and who worked for CNN. However, it wasn't until they got to the show that they found out who the party was for. It was for a gentleman named Rhett Turner. Rhett is the son of Ted Turner - who needs no introduction. Rhett was a very cool guy as was his Dad. There were Fonda's and Turners all in the house. Check out the pic below:

Sorry I couldnt make it bigger, but if you look closely, Ted Turner is in the middle and the members of A1A.

The subject line is somewhat misleading as Buffett himself actually has nothing to do with the story. More accurately it's about a Buffett cover band and the Turners. In any case, thanks for sharing.

Not a problem but from the subject line one would get the impression that Jimmy Buffett himself was somehow involved when all it was was a Buffett cover band.

Jimmy has probably met Ted Turner... so indirectly he has met Tom Hayden and Rhett Turner... That whole 6 degrees of separation thing.

A few years ago A1A was playing a bar in the Newark, Ohio area. I checked on the show. The bar/A1A was asking $40.00 a ticket! No way would I pay that to see a cover/tribute band.

I thought it was 7 degrees of Kevin Bacon...

I think it is. But, gosh-o-rama, if I had a dime for every time a subject line didn't accurately describe the contents of discussion board thread or email, I'd be livin' the Vida Dolce fer sher.

I imagine that would have been a pretty neat surprise for the band, though, to come in and find out they were playing for such an audience.

It really doesn't have anything to do with policing. I don't know about you but from reading the subject line I thought Jimmy Buffett actually had something to do with the story when in reality he had nothing to do with it whatsoever. Call it policing if you like but that wasn't the point I was trying to make at all. God forbid someone here should mispell Buffett, y'all are over them like stink on sh*t. If such things as that bother you so much go after those folks and quit trying to make a mountain out of a molehill.

I was actually more interested to find out which Turners.....And kinda hoping it was for/with Bob Turner....
