The signage still up at the Palmer House? I saw a story in the Trib a few days back about the dismantling. Who knows, you might even be able to talk your way into the place to get a shot of the Palm at the bar..Tiki Bar wrote:Hey hey, whattya say...ejr wrote:Berghoff's is open until the end of February, but Trader Vics closed January 1st.

I changed the list a bit for ease of grouping.Tiki Bar wrote:Dang! You guys are ambitious! I've lived here my entire life - almost 40 years, and haven't been to half of the places on the list... and the ones I have, mostly once or twice!davesnik wrote:Evenin everyone! Sorry this is getting posted so late. Badhabits asked me to post the itinerary (of sorts) for Saturday's FPP Tour of Chicago. Here is a list of the places we are planning on stopping at:
Comiskey
United Center
Sears Tower
Berghoff
Trader Vic's
Art Institute
Soldier Field
Shedd Aquarium
Buckingham Fountain
Millenium Park
Navy Pier
Chicago River
Wrigley Field
Joe's (not sure where to put this because I don't know where it is.)
And you could get a picture of him at the Demon Dog spot too, it's near the Brown Line I believe, on your trip north out of Downtown to Wrigley.
(and since he is such a clown, you could get a picture of him in front of the Second City Theatre too..)
This list is in order as of right now. I'm not sure what time we are going to start at Comiskey. We have a photographer; Down2TheC (Thank you!!!) who will have GPS, laptop and digital camera in hand! The plan is for us to be able to show the pics at the phlocking later on in the day and we will have CD's available to burn the photos on if you would like. It might be a good idea to wait until after Saturday night and add pics of the phlocking to the CD and make it all encompassing.
Would love to hear everyone's thoughts and if anyone is interested in going for just part of the tour, please let us know. We will figure out a way to include everyone that wants to be involved. Thanks everyone!!!!![]()

How so? I thought their first list was fine... BHA lives in the region, I'm sure he knows all the locations just fine...RinglingRingling wrote:I changed the list a bit for ease of grouping.

We will be starting from the south at Comiskey(maybe lunch at Jimbo's for you WSox fans) but I want to end up near 290, heading toward DG. I was thinking it was going to be more like an inverted U. Start south and get some of the things near the lake, head north on LSD, and come back to get Joe's and finish near the Sears Tower so the UC is on the way out of town. Also, the Harlem Globetrotters are at the UC Saturday with 2 shows, 1 and 7, so we need to be there between those. Thanks for the input and keep the suggestions coming.RinglingRingling wrote:Mine is just a "Start from the south, work north" thing.iuparrothead wrote:How so? I thought their first list was fine... I think that's what the plan is at the United Center....correct me if I'm wrong BHA but I believe that's the intent.Gulfbreeze wrote:With a lei around MJ's head??iuparrothead wrote:I think that's a great idea, Breezy!Gulfbreeze wrote:I'm not going to put any more suggestions out there since you guys have a great plan...iuparrothead wrote: Sounds like a good plan! That is definitely the reason for going to the UC. I also forgot one more place Nicole suggested, in Cicero or Berwyn, not too far from Portillo's, at a parking lot at a mall.davesnik wrote:I think that's what the plan is at the United Center....correct me if I'm wrong BHA but I believe that's the intent.Gulfbreeze wrote:With a lei around MJ's head??iuparrothead wrote:I think that's a great idea, Breezy!Gulfbreeze wrote:I'm not going to put any more suggestions out there since you guys have a great plan...iuparrothead wrote: Sounds like a good plan!
