what a bunch of tools... There is a reason you don't ask fifth-graders for serious policy ideas; keep your "hey kids, we need some ideas for new laws" requests to whether Barney should be made an honorary citizen for the day, Big Bird should be pardoned for missing his Electric Company bill for six years, stuff like that.

That the legislator took this seriously would have me questioning whether or not he was fit to be in office.

On the bright side, in MO there is a built-in counterbalance to beer-related policy stupidity...

Trust me, not real high on my reasons why I moved back to OK from VA. Unfortunately, the job, financial and family situations somehow trumped my need for good beer (but not by much).

"He said the idea came from a fifth-grade student in Jefferson County who was participating in a program to teach elementary students about state government.
He sought their suggestions for new laws and chose the cold beer ban from a list of the top three ideas."
So this is how things get done in Misery, huh?

Last year, a fourth-grade class from Kansas City submitted a proposal to make the American bullfrog the state amphibian. It passed in the final moments of the 2005 legislative session.
Maybe they should have stuck to something logical this year like banning cold bullfrog sales. :-?

Maybe establishing a bit of cause and effect would make some sense. I wonder what % of convicted DUIs went over the limit with just-purchased cold beer? My sense is other things could be done to have a more meaningful impact.  :-?
