Maybe this is more your speed. If you use stilts you could even reach the pedals...

But it's a SlopTail...

I know but I like it anyway for a SlopTail. Saw one at the dealership here, it's better in person. I figure I get that and then eventually the keet will be embarassed enough that he'll build me one ok?? WORK WITH ME HERE

Good article on the "Myths" of Hybrid cars:
http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/s ... /20051123/

Which includes the following info on safety:
The only significant safety concern with hybrids may be when a passenger needs to be pulled from the vehicle in an accident situation. Akehurst said emergency response personnel may be at risk around a hybrid vehicle after a collision.

"They need to be aware of the high-voltage of hybrids," he said. This is because the electric battery runs on anywhere from 300 to 500 volts and can prove to be deadly if engine wires are incorrectly disabled.

Ok so your hybrid is crashed bad enough that the jaws of life have to be used to get you out. Wouldn't one assume that in that case your engine wires could probably not be correctly disabled?

Ok so Shan just gave you the best advice short of the hog. You need a hog or a pick up. No if's ands or buts about it.

If you are secure in your masculinity it doesn't matter what you drive. Of course if you feel you need to drive a truck and wear cowboy boots to feel like a man than that is your prerogative.

Yep.. That's me! Not secure at all in my masculinity and I would need to drive a Sherman tank to compensate for lack of size elsewhere...

Glad you got talked out of the hybrid. Their main purpose is to allow enviros to make themselves feel virtuous. Seriously, the gas mileage is little different, they cost a LOT more, and after they're spent, the battery pack requires special handling or it will contaminate a landfill - so much for enviro-friendly.

If you want cheap and good mileage, find a 90's vintage Honda CRX. Friend of mine had one, got 50 mpg, and it was bulletproof reliable. Plus, it still looks cool and handles well.

Although.... good point earlier if you're moving to the south. Just s*** it up and buy the gas-hog 4X4. The extra $$ will be will spent, considering how much the truck adds to your southern credibility.

Good luck.

That's not a truck. No vehicle with less than a 3/4 ton capacity and complete towing package can be considered a truck. Calling that wussmobile a truck is akin to calling a poodle a dog. There shall be no debate on this issue.
