Seriously, though, I met a lady who moved to the great midwest from somewhere on the east coast. On her first drive through the suburbs/countryside around town, she was terrified to see so many 4X4 pickups, most with gun racks and deer rifles.
Took her a couple of years to realize that she was MUCH MUCH safer around us old farmboys. Defending the honor of a lady is a high calling in the flyover states.

Seriously - if you're going to be living downtown and working at MUSC or Roper, you could get around with a bicycle and use her car when you need to get out of the city. It's easier than a car downtown and parking is free...

I thought about getting a hybrid too and the honda guy told me not to waste my time or money on one. The 2006 Civics get 30 city 40 highway with 150 HP. I plan on getting one of those in the spring. The LX model loaded is 17,500 with automatic transmission. Regardless of what you choose good luck on your car search

I"ll actually be at Trident Medical Center up towards Goose Creek so definately gonna need the car.. And we're living in West Ashley so steph will need her car to get to MUSC....
