If you've been on the el and ordered at Gino's, that's all you need....think SNL's Superfans.
Are you a MN local?

Do you have any knowledge of any decent skiing within an hours drive from the twin city's?
I'll be checking out Lutzen, but haven't heard any first-hand accounts of anywhere in MN

a lot of places really aren't more than manmade hills, but if you get up into the Range, it gets better. Lot more opportunity for cross country skiing than downhill in MN.

Check out Highland Hills and Afton Alps....not the best but they are close to the cities...

For a good time try the Block E area downtown. There are all kinds of bars, places to eat, a brewery, shows, and sports events.

You guys are great..thanks! I'll take anything- the only place near Chicago is Wilmot Wisconsin -400 ft vertical-(which isn't too far from Alpine Valley)...I used to teach there and it's a part of my upbringing, but I'm hoping MN will have something a little better than that for going out after work!

I've been here 31 years and still haven't found that much to do. We obviously have the Mall of America (including the occasional rumors of a CIP opening there someday), some pretty decent music at First Avenue, some decent nightlife locations downtown, the best hockey arena in the country, the worst baseball/football stadium in the country, some of the best fishing in the country, a surprising number of beautiful blonde scandanavian women, and a helluva lot of mind numbing cold weather. Good luck!

Ringling I saw your comment on Fargo! I know you are a local at heart! Easy now, the movie was filmed in Brainerd MN.

As for activities, myself 26 yo male. I must say the female population in the Minn area are very good!

The Quest, First Ave, and Roy Wilkins are great venues for music, usally bring in about 75-100 good acts a year, worth checking out. If you are a outdoorsmen, MN has ALOT to offer. Ski in Lutsen (i was just there this weekend and the conditions were crappy, but normally good) Fishing in one of the 10,000 lakes, camping/hiking/backpacking are all good options when it is warm enough. And if you are "man" enough, you can try your hand at Ice Fishing!

I also must add the Minn/ST.Paul parrothead club is happenin' they are worth checking out.

If you need more ideas drop me a line
