Fasting or Detox?

Post by sy »

With the new year, there are tons of health articles about losing weight, getting healthy, etc. I've come across several that refer to water fasting, detox plans, and so on. I'm not considering them, but I am very curious if anyone has ever done any of these plans and what their experiences were?

Everyone in my office is hooked on the detox kick.... I am more concentrated on 1000 calories a day so havent paid much attention to it... Also they are into colon cleansing.... :o

Both involve taking some sort of agent which will do the cleansing.... :-?

Somehow, that doesn't seem real healthy. I would think that a fiber supplement and drinking adequate water would be far healthier than using an agent. :-?

Well, it's been a couple of years since my health and herbal classes, but a flax seed supplement, a good diet with ample fiber, and drinking enough water, I would think, would accomplish the same thing regularly and be far cheaper. Very interesting.

Ahhh. I think NL got it from SNL which I stopped watching with any regularity in about 1985.
