it depend on what u are looking for. in the action, out of the action, or almost in the action, family place or not
. Again look in the CIL area, tons of ideas. We stayed at the Southermost hotel which was reasonable and one the quiet end of duval but close emought to walk and not get a DUI.

The great thing about summer is that the prices drop and you can get way more accomodation for your money. Last summer, I stayed at the Key West Harbor Inn for a couple of days. *Great* place, beautiful rooms, nice pool; on Elizabeth St. around the corner from Conch Republic Seafood and Schooner Wharf. Out of my price range in high season, but within reach in the summer. Most places drop their prices in the summer, so you can either upgrade your accomodations for about the same price, or pay less at the less expensive places.
Carry on as you know they would want you to do. ~~JB, dedication to Tim Russert

Try the Southern Cross Hotel at 326 Duval St. it's not to expensive just make sure to ask for a room not on Duval St. Mine faced South and I had no problem sleeoing but then again I was kind of intoxicated every night so sleeping was easy. They have flat screen TVs now.

stay at the Southern Most Hotel. it is very nice and rates are under $200 which is rare for being right on Duval Street. It is an easy walk to the bars yet far enough removed from the noise at night. It is one block to the ocean and has an awesome tiki bar.

I've stayed there several time, I agree, it's great price, and decent location. it's on Simonton, just a couple of blocks from Duval, the Lighthouse or the beach. If you are used to staying at the Hilton, don't be disappointed, this is not a fancy hotel, but the people are nice. Before you use the pool, have someone check the Chlorine levels, they were about 2x high last time I was there.Cubbie Bear wrote:I think the best mid range place is the Best Western Hibiscus. Or High Biscuits as we like to call it
I've also stayed at the Best Western on Roosevelt, nice hotel, beautiful view, clean and reasonably priced. The main drawback there is the airport, as well as the fact it's on the opposit side of the island from Front/Duval, though I'd recommend it over the Hybiscus. If you're gonna go drinkin', take a taxi.
