Forget the delivery room, you're going to get me kicked out of the house
Well you are always welcome here, but that would be one heck of a commute to work lol
What, you mean your private jet is off limits?
I mentioned Poindexter over dinner tonight. There really aren't words to describe the look I got

Well I hope you didn't bring my name up, I think the girls worry about what we may come up with when we are together already! 8)

Debbie started having mild contractions yesterday. They went through the night and woke her up a few times. Some have gotten stronger and they are closer together this morning. Needless to say we're keeping a close eye on things today...

They're still pretty irregular so it's probably just false labor, but we'll see.
Either way the real thing is definitely getting closer...

No need to panic - nothing happened yet.
The contractions kept getting more intense, so I took her to the hospital this afternoon. The contractions stopped shortly after they hooked up the monitors and she wasn't dialated or effaced, so it was just a really persistent case of Braxton Hicks.

Mrs. Play had a pretty rough weekend, but she has felt a lot better the last couple of days. She had her 36 week appointment today and she goes every week from here on out. The doctor said he wouldn't have stopped the contractions if they had persisted on Sunday, so there is no danger of being put on bed rest. He isn't trying to talk us into inducing, which is a good thing for us.

Her kids start tomorrow and her classroom is in great shape, so that's a huge weight off of her shoulders. I'm convinced the stress of that is what started the contractions this weekend.

I told the doctor about the pregpool, so we'll see if he guesses. He wouldn't guess a date but he thinks the baby will weigh 6 1/2 pounds for what that's worth. The pool is set to expire Aug 31 if anyone else is interested.

Her baby shower is this Sunday, so hopefully she'll hold out until then

No other updates in over a week.
Is everyone else doing ok?

Glad to hear Debbie is OK... I imagine you were right on the stress - a lot of work and planning! Hopefully she is doing better now!!!

Does she need anything?? Can I send her a little "almost there spa basket???" I bet she would love that... I took a nice key lime bubble bath last night and I think I will do it again tonight. The weekend took it's toll on me - but Dr said yesterday that heartbeat is very strong and I have gained the right amount of weight. That made me feel good! Sleeping is the hardest.... But overall - no complaints. We find out next Thursday if it is a boy or girl!!!! Tell Debbie to hang in there!

The spa basket is such a good idea, I'm stealing it from you! :pirate:

Let us know when you find out the sex - I thought you were going to be surprised???

Ugh. Is it September 26 yet?
The swelling has arrived. Apparently the heat didn't bother me, but now that it's cooled down, that's when my body decides it wants to morph into Princess Fiona from Shrek again! I had the same thing when I was pregnant with Kyle at right about this same time.
My fingers and toes are sausages and I am starting to lose my ankles! Today I think even my eyes were swollen!
And sleeping is just not happening. It is difficult to roll over, and my husband tells me I am snoring like a buzzsaw (don't know why pregnancy would make that happen, but it is!). So things are a little rough right now.
But the good news is that I have a job to return to after my maternity leave and will now get the full 12 weeks instead of the 6 weeks paid and then unemployment! Oh, and I got a raise! Woohoo!

Anyways, I hope Mrs. Play's false labor has stopped. Labor is hard enough when you know you're going to have the baby, it must really s*** when you know it's not going to result in the baby being born!
And Megan, I thought you were going to be surprised too? Am I the only one with the will power not to find out????
Hope everyone else is feeling better than I am! :D

I've been lurking on this thread off and on for a little while....but I just wanted to say good luck to all our mommies- and daddies-to-be! Sounds like some of you are really coming down to the wire. Moms--you have my sympathy.....I don't miss that third trimester at all!

Hope everything goes smoothly for everyone and I can't wait to see some new 'keet pics!

Thanks CU! I truly believe it when they call the 2nd trimester the honeymoon trimester. It's just a very uncomfortable waiting game at this point!

I'm getting excited, waiting to hear about the babies being born and see them!

I remember spending my last few PG nights int he recliner b/c that was the only way I could sleep. No fun.

I think the reason PG lasts so long is to get you to the point where you're so big and uncomfortable all the fears you might have about L&D go out the window and you just want to get the kid OUT OUT OUT!
