My drink is the nearest green-cup. And it was before I made Davey give me his shirt.

Re: Beginner Guitar
Couple of easy starters I would suggest...Bob Roberts wrote:I've owned a guitar for over 10 years now and have never been able to play it. A friend of mine is determined to teach me and began tonight with teaching me the G, C, and D chord. I know it's gonna take some time, but I can't wait to start playing songs. My question is..................
What are some extremely easy songs out there that I can learn to play rather quickly? I really want to learn some Buffett, but I'm up for anything that's incredibly easy. Thanks!
Tampico Trauma
Great Filling Station Holdup
CILCIA
A great site to check out is www.getinyourcrib.com
Pretty much any artist you can think of with an extensive library of chords and tabs (both lead, rhythm and bass) includes entire albums of Jimmy's... great search features as well
Good luck, have fun and remember:
"Practice does not make perfect. Perfect Practice makes perfect."
Therefore, take it slowly and really break everything down into individual components.. if you dont learn to play correctly and clean now then it will make it that much more difficult to correct later... every repetition is teaching the muscles. It's more difficult to correct what is set into muscle memory than to learn something new!

I am in a similar bind. Owned a guitar for a while and just starting to learn now. Check out www.guitarnoise.com for a few good free lessons. specifically www.guitarnoise.com/article.php?id=56 which is the lesson on Margaritaville. Real easy to play once this guy explains it to you.
Dumb and drunk as I was, you know I would do it all again.
