I got the movie for my Birthday Yesterday. I liked Buffetts Cameo. I was not too keen on the movie though. What did you think of the movie?

Have never seen the movie. Do have the soundtrack. Love the original version of "Livingston Saturday Night". :D

When he sing it in the movie is when he does his Cameo. There is a drastic difference in him between now and them. Time has sure changed him (for the good).

For a hard-core parrothead, this movie is worth watching just for the glimpse of Jimmy back in his wild man days. If I remember correctly, I think Fingers Taylor is there on stage with him (ahh, those were the good old days!) The film also features some pretty nice Montana scenery, but the boring story line and b-movie acting make this movie painful to watch at times.

I bought the DVD 2 or 3 years ago and I've watched it only one time. I believe it was suppose to be a “comedy” but I don’t think I laughed at all! I have put it in 2 or 3 other times to show to some parrothead friends but skipped directly to Jimmy Scene.

It's been a while since I've actually seen the movie but I don't remember it being all that great. Still, the soundtrack is a very worthy addition to any Buffett fan's collection. For whatever it's worth, I prefer this era of Buffett to most any other. He definitely sounds more "country" here than he does throughout the majority of License To Chill which seems to have more in common with today's country sound.

I actually like the movie. (I love the soundtrack). Its about the changing of the times in Montana. Very simmilar circumstances to Key West etc.
As I recall, up on stage is Russell Chatham and Thomas McGuane. And for a Buffett fan, Russell Chatham and Thomas McGuane are pretty darn cool!

I bought it a couple years back. It wasn't the greatest, but I did enjoy it.

Went to see the movie when it first came out at the theater, I didn't know JB was in it, heard the soundtrack at the beginning and said "Holy S--t" That's Jimmy! Special ordered the LP as soon as it was available. I have the movie on VHS, not grammy material.

I really enjoy the movie...I've watched it several times...the humor is subtle...it gets funnier with each viewing...Jeff Bridges is wonderful....

It's easy to find at almost any online retailer...in the store you can only get it at Border's, Tower Records, Fry's, and sometimes Barnes & Noble.

It's a great movie. It really stirred things up in Livingston. A lot of people in Livingston didn't go to it as they thought it was too obscene. I had a religious uncle who thought the world was almost coming to an end because of the near nudity. After the movie, my neighbor bought the old baby blue Lincoln Continental (the one they shot up with holes), filled all of the holes and drove it for a good 10 years. Wish I would have bought it from him before it went to the junk yard.

It has a lot of local folks in the movie including an old gal who ran an antique shop. She was kind of the town's Captain Tony.

Great scenery. A lot of it was filmed at the former McGuane place up Deep Creek. I drive by there almost every weekend. It hasn't changed a bit.

Unfortunately, I was only 14 years old when the movie was being filmed so I didn't get a chance to hang around the bars and see Buffett.

Because of e-bay, I now have a complete collection of Rancho Deluxe posters and even got a copy of the version that was released in the UK.

Russell Chatham is a cool guy. A great artist and even has his own book publishing company in Livingston.

Tom moved to Pine Creek then moved to Melville near Big Timber. That's where he and Laurie have a ranch. He's really into cutting horses. He made their hall of fame this year. Was invited to a Schweitzer for Governor fundraiser at his ranch two years ago, but it was on a Tuesday night so I didn't get a chance to go (I wasn't working for Gov. Schweitzer as I am now). So I missed my chance to meet Laurie. Met his previous two wives though.
