Skydiving

Post by greyeyedskydivegirl »

Do you think JB has ever gone skydiving? Getting a bunch of parrotheads together for a phun phantastic experience skydiving would be great. There is a place near here (15 miles) that are friends of mine and are simply AMAZING at what they do. She is from PA and he is from Australia! They have a skydiving/B&B business and small air strip for small planes to land. Suppose we could get Jimmy to drop in??

I have no knowledge of Jimmy's recreational activities unless he has written about them in a song... :D

However... why he would jump out of his perfectly good airplane would be beyond me! :o

Jimmy did some sort of Army or Air-force or Marine or Navy training before he flew in an F14, didn't he?

I would imagine that there was at least some sort of training on skydiving or parachuting!

But how the heck would I know?

It was the standard cycle of Navy Physiology training required to keep flight status current. He did his in Norfolk, although they are located at most major Naval Air facilities. The underwater egress device (Dilbert Dunker), parachute disentanglement training, and some swim quals (although I don't believe they put him through the whole 9 yards of that). He also would have taken a ride in the pressure chamber to recognize the effects of having your O2 taken away. But no, this training did not involve any actual live jumps. Closest would have been being dragged through a pool having to unclip the SV-2 harness (unless taking a sudden trip underwater still attached to your chute seems suddenly desirable for some reason).

JB Skydiving

Well, I honestly don't think he has ever gone because if he did it would be a great experience and he would have something like that in a song. And oxygen isn't needed at certain heights. Above 14,500 requires oxygen but nothing lower than that. Its a rush!! I can't wait to go again!!

Anyone interested? I could hook you up!
