But I will get a nice raise, an office overlooking Tampa Bay and not have to see my anal boss ever again! Just one drawback... I have to go to Cincinatti on 2/27 for a weeks "training".....Good thing MID is taking Les on the cruise.... I can't go

So today I organized my desk.... made a list of pending issues.... and I gave my notice to my bosses.... and they in turn went into shock but thanked me and sent me home @ 4pm. Which means I am OFF WORK until 2/13!!! WOO HOO!!!
I havent been so happy in a long time... I really feel this was the right decision!
Thanks for letting me share.....

Not being an HR person ... aren't you 'entitled' to your unused vacation time?![]()
Did you not check on the BN posting before you accepted the job??![]()
Nope.... vacation, commissions or any type of benefits are considered a gift... or an agreement between the company oand the employee... No law requires him to pay it. Only a civil action could overturn his decision..ragtopW wrote:

We had a company go Bankrupt on us and tried to
squid out of paying, they were told they had to pay
they had no choice...
(some of the women had as many as 240 days..)

No it doesnt.... actually.... an employer is ONLY mandated to pay wages of time worked equaling minimum wages... according to the DOL.
As for salaried.... the law says that if you work at least one hour... you must be paid the entire salary... with EXCEPTION to the first or last week of employment! So me being paid for tomorrow is his Gift...Granted I gave a notice... and most employers who cut you loose will pay you out... but they do no have to.... and mine won't!

As for the vacations... if it is in the company handbook... then it would be easily enforced... If not... forget about it... it would cost more to take them to court....
