WOOOEEE! Getting close! Anyone who got tickets to see Sonny Landreth know what the numbers on the tickets are for? Just curious as to how they will handle this. They say standing only but I had the same scenario at the Plantation CIP opening and about 20 of us got seats. We were there hours early though. Wonder what the numbers are for. Ours are like 63 and 64 I think. Will we be admitted by number? Hmmmm...
Also, Photogal suggested e-mail exchange for us BNers. Good idea, yes?
PM me for mine if you like. :D

What time were you guys thinking of getting there? Doors open at 9pm. want to meet out front before? I have everyones cell#'s too btw.
I dont know about the numbers on the tickets, I'm 70 and 71. They said they were selling limited tickets so maybe they were just keeping track.

So should we meet out front and what time?

I cant wait and I'm hungry just thinking about New Orleans!! :D

. .here's how things have worked in the past . . .

. . SRO means they will empty the Cafe of those eating . . .remove all the tables . .then let people in . .

. .so SRO means just that . . no chairs on the bottom area, just standing. The only thing is . . .it is usually first come, first served on entering for the show. . .we literally stood in line on the sidewalk for 10+ hours (yep) to be up close for the Club Trini CD recording . .( worth every minute I might add ) . . but it did consume the whole day . .

. . I would think the # on the tickets are possibly so they know when to stop selling them . .Fire Code, perhaps . . .

again, it may be completely different for this event . . but that is how it was handled in years before . .

So what time were you guys thinking of getting to MV Friday? I dont want to waste alot of time standing in line. If Jimmy was going to show up I think it would be saturday at the private party dont you? And anyhow I really want to see Sonny! That room isnt that big, cant be too bad to be near the back right?

I'm with ya there. I really am there to see Sonny. Jimmy will be at the "private" party I'm sure. It won't stop me from glancing around to see if he just might hop up on stage with Sonny though :D . Unfortunately we are not leaving Florida until Friday morning so will probably not get to MV until around 8 (???). Planning to stop at Lulu's if we can. A 10 hour wait in line would not be on my agenda. Geesh, I only waited 4 hours to be face to face with THE MAN! We could meet at the web cam. Where exactly is it?

Our flight doesn't arrive until 8:12, so if we arrive somewhat close to on time, we're going to head over and hang out in the upstairs bar, I think. I cant wait!!!!

So what size purse do I need for JazzFest? I know I'll need sunblock, but do I just need my regular size (enough room for my wallet, phone, lip balm and small container of sunblock) or the travel purse (I ran out of space and had to buy a pretty big-by my standards- purse in Japan)? Is there stuff I'll actually want to buy, knowing I have to carry it around all day, there? I know they're forecasting thunderstorms, but would having my rain jacket be worth lugging around the purse?

we'll probably get there about 8ish.

Ok, slight change of plans, I read my note wrong and we're getting in around 5, not 8, so we're going to go hit the end of JazzFest and get the lay of the land, find out whether we'll need to bring our own TP, that sort of thing, and then we may meander down to M'ville.

Coconuts,

I saw your question about what you should take to Jazz Fest. I have never posted, but since I go to Jazz Fest every year I thought I might be of some use.

I don't carry a purse since I hate to keep up with it. Rather, my husband or I carry a backpack. A tote bag also works well if someone will be camped out on a blanket all day (we are wanderers). We pack sunscreen, a lip balm, a purse sized pack or two of kleenex for the portolets, and a small liquid hand sanitizer or handiwipes (critical). I think aspirin and a roll of Rolaids are not a bad idea either just in case. If the weather requires, I pack a light rainjacket with a hood rather than an umbrella (if it gets that bad I just leave). I try not to put too much in the pack since they check them when you enter and also I like to leave some room in case I buy a craft or a cookbook from the book tent. I also wear a cap or brimmed hat for sun purposes.

I hope this helps. Please enjoy your visit to Jazz Fest and Louisiana.
