How do I get MID to say YES!!!! We'll camp or sleep in the car, but we can be there.......
Kidnap her. Act like you're going out to eat or something, and just keep driving.
Or just stop on the way back from Dallas...
Weren't we supposed to pudding wrestle at Alpine? Just tell her it's been rescheduled...

Add me to the list!

I'll be there from thursday night until Monday!
Woohoo!!! We are staying at a Best Western about 6 miles out for $98 a night. I went last year and we had a ball. Just hope we can get anywhere near the stage. How is it that the gates open, you run to the stage and they are already 30 or 40 deep? Where does everyone come from?

So do you pick a spot and then walk around? I want to see many other bands during the day. I've seen Jimmy up close so I'm good with staying in the back. If its hot it must be nasty being shoulder to shoulder like that without seats. Just wondering, I've never been.

I really think they will have done lots to put things back in order . . and, to be honest. . I'm sure I have never been in the part of town most affected. . sad, but true. .
I think there will be a special " rebuilding sprit " when Jimmy hits the stage and gets us all pumped up . . ! !
that's when the tears will come . . .

I sure miss Jazz Fest. Use to do it every year. Saw Jimmy there in '99. Now live to far. Whoever goes please have fun for me as well. I went for Mardi Gras this year. Can't make that fourteen hour drive in such a short span. HAVE FUN. Spend lots of money to help get New Orleans goin again.

Where does Jimmy go after he performs? Does he do an impromtu at Margaritaville? He mentioned Cafe Brazil at the Aspen show. I read once that he still had an apartment in New Orleans. Maybe he stays for the weekend? Anybody know from past experience with Jazz Fest if there is a chance we will see him outside the fairgrounds?
Wishing, hoping, praying....

Ok, that just stinks. I haven't been to M'ville Vegas since 99, and they're closing it when there will be that many tourists there?! Jimmy can tip his fn staff out the wazoo on some other night!
On the bright side, we have plane tickets!

I haven't seen anything.
Oh yeah- if anyone needs 2 tickets, we thought we would get in early enough to go on Friday, but we're not going to be able to use those tickets.

ok they have info for Sonny at Margaritaville on Friday up on the web site. Tickets go on sale next monday, and its kinda complicated and all, with all sorts of restrictions, and its $30 for standing room only. I may be by myself, I'm not sure I can talk the people I'm going with to go. Which I have just decided is no big deal, they can go to bed if they like...lol. So who's gonna try to get tickets??
who's going to jazz fest

Photogal,
I am definitely going to try to get tickets. I've already been told it isn't likely since it's basically a" private party". I, however, am not listening!

I think I've talked my son in to going. He is in the music business so generally will go to most any event. You are sure welcome to join us if we can all get tickets.
