Ever check out the IPs?
Yes. :)
And...how does that check out with CaptainP's investigative work?
Inconclusive as far as I can tell... imagine my surprise when my name was the 1st listed as others posting from dino's IP! :lol: (aol)

Likely the IP's wouldn't match up either way.

If it is not Dino, they wouldn't match.
If it IS Dino, he's clearly moved from Itasca to Bartlett, so they wouldn't match anyway.

If it is not Dino, they wouldn't match.
If it IS Dino, he's clearly moved from Itasca to Bartlett, so they wouldn't match anyway.
So, this Dino Sailor could be:

a) our buddy Dino from previous years with good info (who's since taken up sailing and/or forgotten his password)
b) another Alpine fan with a fun dream
c) a cruel Irvine or Great Woods disciple messing with Alpine folk (IP address?)

My hope is "a". :D

My suspicions about dino where there also....why did he change his name? although if I had inside information, I know I would be obligated to keeping it inside, therefore taking caution to remain incognito...

hmmm......only time will tell...hopefully soon!!!

Officially, no dates booked so far.

And 2 dates seems like a stretch for Alpine....as much as I'd love it, with the local restrictions, they'd have to be either back-to-back days, or different weeks.
What are the restrictions?
No shows on weekdays. It's either Fri/Sat only or Sat/Sun only, can't remember.
I wonder when they started doing this....In 1989 I saw the Grateful Dead on Tues, Wed, Thurs, and the Who on Sat. at Alpine...I'm still recovering.

Dino Sailor in this thread:
dino sailor wrote:Yes, Buffett will be doing 2 shows this year. Dates coming stay tuned! so far Dave Matthews band July 1st-2nd, The Dead August 12th, stay tuned to dino!!! now dino sailor!!
Dino in past years:
dino wrote:according to david shaw a alpine rep no ticket info and it may not happen at all if no date gets set soon, at least nobelsville. in is a lock. DINO!
dino wrote:ill keep everyone posted but it looks as if he is not doing miller park in milwaukee wis, alpine he would not skip for a baseball field as bad as that one. i called the country inn suites and rooms are still open but the date of show is still to be announced, alpine valley personal im going to contact soon becausenthats how i got the date last year early, dino
dino wrote:i will call my source who said it would be confirmed in 14 days, ill post a message as soon as i get the date! dino!

Maybe someone messing with us, trying to imitate the sentence fragments, but not being that accurate?

Also, Dino seems to have moved from Itasca to Bartlett.
wow, CaptP............you shoulda been a detective!!!!
I never even picked up on that, but now I see it! hmmmmmm

Oh yeah... I remember you! :o :wink: :lol:

By the way... I think of you every time I see / want to share the "here you go parrothead" "poem" in my car! :)
Care to share the poem, Tiki?
From August 2004:
Tiki Bar wrote:I saw this on the mville webboard yesterday and thought it was pretty cool! Last Woman Standing has posted here on BN a few times, so I hope she doesn't mind me sharing it. She lives in the Chicago area - I hope it happens to me some time!

"LMS (hubby) was out and about yesterday afternoon in my Jeep, you know, Finzlefoot with the Parrothead lisence plate cover and FINS UP decal- He was stopped at a red light and this young man that was behind him gets out of his car and runs up to the window waving a piece of paper. LMS rolls the window down a crack and the guy hands him the paper and cheerily says:

"HERE YA GO PARROTHEAD!" and ran back to his car. I thought it was worth sharing.

Here is what he wrote:

The Parrothead
Found between the age of five years old and seventy years young, with a pleasant disposition for harmless chaos and visions of beaches, bars, boats and ballads; defining an Eden for half baked fruitcakes, tourists and dreamers.

The school teacher; sweet, innocent and caring, and living on flashbacks of Key West and New Orleans, with sympathy for the crazy woman on Caroline street.

The suburban teen who finds that Caribbean rhythms, gospel vocals, and stories of erupting volcanoes, old sailors and wind blown palm trees is far more inviting than "Radio Rock".

The hard working father of three reasons to care; who has little miss magic and understands why Delaney talks to statues; who never regrets the committments and responsibilities cast upon him by unforseen fate; and harbors an annual summer day in his favorite floral shirt, prepared with pitchers of margaritas in the back of the family trooper and a smiling wife to share a blanket at the Jimmy Buffett concert.

The Deadhead who honors a crowd of yuppies in need of carnival;
The old cheerleader squatting in the grass;
The goofy blonde strangers in skirts of grass;
The escaped, mid forties, moms and dads rolling grass.

Thousands upon thousnads of court jester understudies hailing to the Lings Minstrel in dance and repute. The Parrot-Head, one and all, conjure and revel in a fantasy island of stories and indulgence found only between the Coast of Moderation and the Sea of Excess.

By a Parrothead named John"
Don't mind at all! I had forgotten all about that! Thanks for re-posting it!
The Last Woman Standing is singin' bring on a little bit more!

To stop the speculation that I started about Dino....

I received a PM from a mod who said they fixed his post because the bad grammer was really bothering them. :wink:
