A huge white owl, which I've seen before (there is a major bird sanctuary not far from our area, so we get a lot of unusual birds around) was perched right on the corner of my deck, and there were 8 deer all in my backyard. The cutest thing was that there was a tiny little one (which I didn't think they gave birth this early, because he/she was small!).
Of course, by the time I got the camera, everybody had left
Just my morning observation
And I thought trying to feed the stray cat in the backyard last night was entertaining
Snowy owls frequently come south from Canada during the winter for food.
We had one at work one time that perched on a tree two feet from a window...I swear half of Dow Center was there at one time or another to look at it. It was so spectacular looking.
We see tons of wildlife at our cabin....Deer, turkeys, partridge, ducks, raccoons, screech owl, swans, loons, otter, muskrat, beaver. all kinds of birds and one of my favorites is a flying squirrel that comes to our feeder at night.

That would be fascinating. I've never seen one of those in person.
Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all..
My morning observations were 3 quaker parrots, the Gulf, 2 egrets, and steam rising from my coffee cup...and the cute girl that walks her golden retriever everyday around 8....I like that.
Oh sure, make me depressed now
she probably can't make cookies as good as you do dear
Oh how cool!!!! I love baby deer - they are so agile and fast!!! I was driving thru some woods with my dad once when he said, very calmly - STOP NOW. Over to the side of us was the mamma and her baby. Too cool!!!
Right now I'm trying to teach my pup that the bunnies that are coming all around our house really aren't her enemies. We have a bunny family living in the woods somewhere next to us and they are sooooo cute!!
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.

Aww From time to time, I'll see a bunch of does and fawns in the fields off of 422, but not often. They really are beautiful and graceful animals.
As for my dog, he's terrified of any animal that's in our backyard. If I take him out, he'll run to the end of his leash, bark bark bark until the animal moves, and then he yips and bolts as fast as he can back inside. Surprisingly, though, I don't think I've ever seen rabbits wandering around the backyard.

Cool, Sy! My morning observations usually include quite a few birds since we are right on the flyway and the Sandhill Cranes winter here...those things are HUGE!
I'll have different observations today...cuz I'm headed to the Coast to meet Lynn! I'll let ya know what I see.

We're way off the main road with just us and our neighbors down our "private road" Our pup gets times when she can be loose and play with the neighbor's dog. I have this fear that she'll kill one of the bunnies. Earlier in the fall she or her bud killed a field rat and they were playing with it's lifeless body It was so disgusting to take it away from them.

Ooh cool! The biggest birds I get to see are the loons in AC.

Ick, thankfully that would require effort of some sort on the part of my lazy dog, so hopefully I won't have to encounter that and those field rats aren't small

Oh that's wrong....
Actually, even though our area is getting pretty built up (ah, suburban sprawl) we get quite a menagerie in our back yard. The randy little squirrels, a few rabbits (be vewy quiet, we're hunting wabbits), the groundhog who makes a home under the deck every summer, raccoons, an occasional skunk (move along, nothing to see here), a fox who made a one-time appearance, and 4 deer who have been regular visitors lately. And in the summer, there's a contingent of owls who have lengthy discussions in the middle of the night. Hoooooo, hooooooo, hoooooooo..... I get it already, is that all you have to say?

Oh, sure. No proof.
At 4:45 I'm lucky to make sure I get all necessary articles of clothing on before I walk out of the house. I don't normally walk around with my camera around my neck

No?
Anyway, a couple years ago, I looked outside, and saw a huge turkey walking by the window. This was weird. We live in the city.
Lets see. When I woke up I saw 2 homeless dudes, a large fat homeless cat, and piles of trash - I love New York.
