A tiny deer and an owl

So I went out out my back deck this morning around 4:45am and flipped on the floodlights. I saw such a cool sight:

A huge white owl, which I've seen before (there is a major bird sanctuary not far from our area, so we get a lot of unusual birds around) was perched right on the corner of my deck, and there were 8 deer all in my backyard. The cutest thing was that there was a tiny little one (which I didn't think they gave birth this early, because he/she was small!).

Of course, by the time I got the camera, everybody had left :(

Just my morning observation :D

I just saw the frozen streets of my island as I drove to work..... :o

The sun was up, though, and that's a welcome change from last month!

How beautiful to have an owl.....we had one until the crows chased it off.

We do have a small heard of deer (6) that take frolic in our yard every day. They like to eat out of the bird feeder and the lady next door feeds them bread.

We also have a hawk that sits out front and takes care of our field mice and snakes. It is huge and does not move when we walk up to it. My dog plays with the smaller deer.

It's all good, I love my critter friends.

Enjoy your new friends, Sy.

:) I never realized how big that owl was until he took off one morning and he was perched on my mailbox. It was amazing.

We have lots of critters that I catch running around the backyard...wild turkeys (which are just funny to watch), and a bunch of foxes from time to time.

And occasionally, some of the livestock gets loose from the farm that's beyond the woods behind me. Twice, I found a goat eating the one shrub by my basement door, and a couple of sheep.

That's always interesting to walk out on

Owl are huge their wing spand amazing. I heard that when an owl will settle in the same spot for life, maybe you will get to see it regulary.

Wild Turkeys are fun to watch. You have fox, how cool. They are beautiful. Goat and sheep, Sy you have it all. I bet you love where you live.

Yes, they get crazy don't they......Always a good watch that will lift our spirits and put a grin on your face. Can't eat anything I met....but I have had some I didn't meet and the taste is unbelieveable. I like duck too and frog legs, do you gig for legs? Now there is some very tastey eating.

Good think I just ate my oatmeal, otherwise I might be cooking dinner right now.
