I'm not a beer drinker, but I think their story answers ome of your questions...

"Lone Palm Ale" wins Beer Fest Award

The 7th Annual Orlando Beer Fest, held November 12th and 13th at
Universal CityWalk in Orlando is the largest beer festival in Florida and one
of the largest in Southeastern US. 41 brewers from all over the country
showcased more than 120 different beers and competed for the coveted
Best of the Fest awards.

It was Margaritaville's first year out there, showing off the newest addition
to the menu, Lone Palm Ale - a smooth, drinkable red ale found ONLY in
Margaritaville restaurants. And guess what?! We won!!!

That's right, Margaritaville took 2nd place in the Taster's Choice Award and
2nd place for the Best Booth!!!

The booth was an oasis, a place to unwind, complete with tiki bar,
adirondack chairs and PlayStation 2. It included Margaritaville Jerk Shrimp
samples, a Tattoo parlor - Margaritaville shrimp tattoos available while you
sampled, a Tiki lounge with Play Station 2 , and a giant plasma tv was set up
in the for our (Root) Beer Tapper Tournament. At the end of each day the
player with the highest score won a Lone Palm Gift Basket containing a
Lone Palm tap handle, set of pilsner glasses, Lone Palm coasters, chrome
bottle opener, key chain, baseball cap, Margaritaville dinner certificate and
a PlayStation 2 Beer Tapper Game.

Lone Palm Ale was so popular that more of it was served than any other
beer at the festival.

I've tried it and it's not that bad. It ranks right up there with my 2 favorite beers, "FREE" and "COLD". I will be sampling the Lone Palm beer at Margaritaville Orlando the week of 2/18-2/26 and will give a review when I return. I believe my avatar is a photo taken of me at Margaritaville Las Vegas shortly after the JB concert this past October. If I am not mistaken, I was drinking a Lone Palm at the time.

for the most part the acts playing there are not well known (though Sunny Jim is scheduled there occasionally)

The hostess for the Porch of Indecision is a friend, I will ask her for her recommendation and post her answer here sometime over the next day or so.

Lone Palm is the M'Ville exclusive from A-B.

At CIP, we have Island Ale, brewed for us by Leinenkugel.

If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
