Sigh. . . Watching ESPN this morning, I feel like Jimmy Fallon in Fever Pitch. . where he keeps playing the tape of the 1986 World Series. . . I think someone needs to take my remote away. . . :(

Oh. . Congratulations to the Mets and Mets Fans. Well deserved win.
(((((Karin)))))

I'm not sorry the Yankees lost, but my condolensces to my friends who are fans, and are sorry to see their team exit.

I don't care if Lou was his dad or if they were in love....he needs to take his current 4 for 41, no HR, no RBI postseason streak somewhere else.

Let him hit 60 meaningless HR's and have 140 meaningless RBI's and a meaningless 320 avg with Anaheim or the White Sox.

It's all about cohesion not payroll.....A team has to play like a team not as superstars by themselves.

that is a horrible thing to say about Bonds.. best thing to do with him is trade him to the Rockies or the Cubs...

There is no joy at Petco
Padres hitting woes finally finish them.... Cards move on, 6-2 :-? :-? :-?

...and Crusty and I had tickets for what would have been the decisive Game 5

I look forward to a thoroughly revamped lineup for 2007 :)

It's not about the team, it's about Barry...

and the joy of watching him get walked until he is 80, the record never getting any closer... Priceless.

Even though the damm Tigers beat my beloved Yankees, I will say one thing for Mr. Jim Leyland-(14 years overdue kudos) (When he was manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates and "I ME" Bonds was one of his players)
GOD BLESS HIM (Leyland) for the way he got in Bonds' face in spring training of 1992(?) and screamed at him to knock off his Prima Donna B.S., that the game was about the TEAM, and not HIM.
He (Leyland) EMPHATICALLY avowed that as long as HE was the manager, "I ME" Bonds would show up when he was TOLD to show up, work out when he was TOLD to work out, and play when he was TOLD to play. Leyland was NOT nice about it-he made it a point that HE was running the team, not Bonds.
Of course, the following year Leyland was gone.
Probably hurt poor Barry's feelings.

Anyway, no matter WHAT happens this year, Leyland still has more world series rings than Bonds.

I'm sure they'll tear apart and destroy their city, in true Detroit fashion.
Never has happened, one flipped cop car in 84 and that was considered a riot. Wings win- no riot, Pistons win no riot.

What happened in boston? Vancouver? hmmmm

now east lansing........different story

don't you have to have something worth destroying to make it a real riot? :)

ANY "fans" ANYWHERE that does crap like this after their teams win needs their a$$es severely KICKED. I don't care if it's ten cop cars, ONE cop car, one privately owned car, or one skateboard.
There's no excuse for that kind of behavior. EVER.

Today's the 38th anniversary of Mickey Lolich outdueling Bob Gibson in the 7th game of the '68 series, Lolich's third win in the series. Can you imagine one of today's managers going out to the mound to take the ball from one of those pitchers, just because they allowed a lead-off single in the 8th? They'd get the ball alright, they'd just need a proctologist to remove it.

He probably never would've been in the game in the 8th inning.
NOBODY pitches a complete game anymore-they're all five-six inning pitchers.
This year the Cubs had exactly TWO pitchers pitch a complete game.
(Of course, they ARE the Cubs). :-?
