I grew up in Carmel, Indiana and we always pronounced it without the "a"

I have a friend whose name is Carmel and she is adamant that the candy is not pronounced the same as her name.

I always say care-ah-mel... but I'm Canadian so who knows if that's right. :lol: :roll: :P :P I only say car-mel if its car-mel corn, just cuz I think that sounds better.
