That's EXACTLY what Valentine's Day is-an excuse to keep single people down and a LEGAL way for the blood suckers at Hallmark to r.ape the public.
It's not just Hallmark, the jewelry stores and flower shops do VERY well for tomorrow as well.

I'm SO lucky-I have a wife that despises flowers as much as I do, and a mother who only wants a card from each of her four kids. Since I hate hallmark so much, I draw my OWN card and write my OWN message on it to give to her, and that pleases her more than anything else.

So don't buy one of their cards ..... fold your own frikkin paper and write your own message.
Hallmark (like any other business enterprise) exists because enough suckers buy their product.

so crib some verse from Yeats, Shelley, or one of the other Romantic poets; put it inside the card in your best handwriting; attribute it; and then put it in the envelope and give it. Sheeesh. :D

Sorry, but when one holiday celebrates Baileys and the other celebrates FLOWERS, guess which one I'm giving the nod to!
I absolutely despise the "everybody's irish on St. Patricks Day". DESPISE.
HEY NOW you wee prawn....Don't you be puttin' down St. Paddy's Day!
You may like it, but then again you need noit be celebrate'n it neither if it tis not your likin'. The Irish WANTeveryone to celebrate with them. Now whats so wrong with that? Oh I do agree with ye that it has turned into somewhat of a circus mind you, ( Try bein' in Savanah ,Jaw-Juh on that day) Tis a glorious and wondrous sight to behold.(But a REAL PAIN IN THE ARSE for gettin' about one's business as one would normally do.) Pepe if you want to screw everyone up, wear orange on St.Patrick's Day.

The Irish invited the world to join them for a day to get a wee look at the life of the favorite people of God.( yeah other people just think they are, but the Irish KNOW they really are.)

After all, God gave them Guinness and Jameson's and Bushmills.True nectar of the Gods! It is not the fault of the Irish that some people tend to be carried away and turn destructive. The poor unfortunate creatures just need to be educated in the ways of the spirits.

Garry me lad, I will GLADLY buy Bud for you anyday ( at least it is better than that Mexican rat pee!) But I will buy you a pint or two or some dribbles of God's Holy water and we can sit back after a good pot of stew and bread, and figure out all of life's answers, and then eventually realize that they changed the questions on us once again. Bud is becoming a BIG TIME beer in Ireland....

Last year St. Patrick drank his favorite watering hole out of Guinness...was a crying shame I tell you....trully it was a heart wrenching and most troubling situation. Saints preserve us and have mercy! Begorrah!

I don't know if St.Patrick is going to make an appearence this year but he just might ( with no parade or anything this year, like he did last year) and I am telling his favorite place for libations to be stocked up this year and be prepared and to have his good friend Arlie (and a couple of others) with their git-fiddles on standby.

Why is their a day for anything? or a week? or a month? Does that mean we HAVE to? Isn't it more about remembering? Such as Veterans Day? Or Memorial Day or V.E. Day or V.J Day? What about "Awareness Week or Month for (name your cause)"? Are they really neccessary? I am pretty sure every week and every month on our calendar is somebody or other's cause or awareness or something. Are people as outspoken of their dislike for them as well?

I am Irish, and I do NOT want everyone to celebrate with me (I stopped reading there, you had too many words.)

Sorry, Sam. For one day I can pretend to be Irish. The other 364 are devoted to "Mexican Rat Pee."
