I have to admit that I am a sucker for a romantic holiday!!
Steve was diagnosed with terminal cancer on Valentine's Day last year. I must say that the day has a whole new meaning now.
I choose to celebrate it as "a whole new lease on life/brand new chapter" day.
So, I guess I have created my own - I think I like it better

ah - it's all good though. Maybe abbreviate it or spin the name into something else like an acronym
