Thats if you want to leave your car @ shoreline. Given that they have a no tailgating policy, I will probably end up at the sports page perhaps. Who the hell knows lol, and taking a cab over to shoreline depending on distance and a cab back to the hotel.

I dunno...for a place with a "no tailgating" policy, they sure had a lot of it going on last time Buffett played there...'02 oe '03...

I'm pretty sure what's being said is that the Shoreline does not have a policy against tailgating. And they do not have a policy that says tailgating is fully accepted.
regalis - when you called, did they say what kinds of tailgating items we can bring? I know most places with a paved parking area (premium) allow gas-grills, but no charcoal grills.
It's been way too long since I've been out to the Shoreline. How many paved lots do they have now?
The Sports Page and the Parking lots are about one mile apart, so walking isn't impossible, unless you can't walk.

I didn't ask about what items in particular. I just asked about tailgating in general,

OK, here's the scoop, directly from the Operations Manager at the Shoreline:
According to Mountain View city code, tailgating is not allowed in our parking lots, or anywhere in Mountain view for that matter. Our security roams the parking lots and informs our guests not to tailgate. If Mountain View police find tailgating, they will issue a citation. Therefore, gas grills are not allowed. -- You do have until noon the next day to move your car. We must prepare the lots for the following show.
Parking lots will open at 5:pm for Jimmy Buffett. We have two "paved" parking lots. Premier parking is "paved". We also have a lot across the street (A/B lot) which is "paved" as well. There are port-a-johns in each of the parking lots.
Parking is included in the price of the ticket. If you park in the general lots (there are plenty of spaces for everyone) you do NOT have to pay an additional parking fee. If you choose to park in Premier parking, it will be an additional $20 parking fee.
Alcoholic beverages need to be consumed by those of age, and not to an extreme extent. Any illegal substances are exactly that, illegal substances, and should not be brought to the Shoreline property.
Blankets, low beach chairs, non-alcoholic beverages (we will have cups at the gates to pour these in to. sorry, band rules), soft sided six-pack size coolers, food and backpacks are allowed. All of these will be searched at the front gates upon arrival. Cameras will not be allowed in to the venue for this show.
Rumor has it there is a Margaritaville Tequila/Corona Extra party at the venue prior to the concert. I am not sure how you would go about getting an invite. I don't usually say this, but it isn't my department. That is all handled through Margaritaville and Corona.

I want to thank Tim for his very rapid response to my e-mail, and his thorough answers (though I don't like the city code portion, but that's not Tim's fault)

SO WHAT TIME ARE WE MEETING AT THE SPORTS PAGE???

First: I'm not agreeing with The Man, I'm just telling you what The Man said.
Second (and more importantly): Jell-O?! Where? Yes Please!!
I'll apologize to you now for me not being the bringer of the Jell-O to this event. Since I'm traveling from Colorado on Monday night to come out, and staying with my brothers family, I'm not sure how they'd feel about me staying up all night to make Jell-O.
If any of you ever make it to a Colorado show, you'll have to partake in my groups Jell-O selections, it's a moral imperative.

Margarita Jello Shots
Lime jello, large box, or two small boxes
2 c boiling water
7/8 cup cold water
3/4 cup tequila
1/4 c triple sec
1/8 c fresh squeezed lime juice
Make jello according to directions on box, replacing cold liquid ingredients with the cold liquid ingredients above.
YUMMY!!!

I just may have some jello shots with me.... In Philly I brought 400 with me.... So I may recreate that, but I will be 3000 miles from the base of my operation. I'm sure I can spend a few hours on Monday making (and testing) jello shots with my friends......
