Our Bufettmobile in the works

Post by Changing Channels »

Our concert group worked today on prepping my Volkswagen vanagon for the show. I submitted a pic to 2006 tailgating. See if it is approved and posted. Look for "Finagon".
Still more work to go, but if all works out, it should be easy to notice us when we come into town

Congrats on the new jeep, just in time for beautiful Spring and Summer weather!

Did you get the iPod and Sirius stuff like you'd planned? Oh yeah and did you get Blake's number? (j/k I know you have a boyfriend)

What's the website?

Are you in premium or GA parking?

What kinda stuff have you done to your van/wagon?

Did you buy it just for tailgating?

Where have you taken to in the past?

Polly
The pic is at http://www.buffettfan.net/gallery/displ ... =103&pos=0

We have put a dorsal fin on the roof rack and a hinged (MTC) tailfin on the bike rack. Made a sharks snout out of a traffic cone, and teeth to come (on the grille).

I'm gonna call about premium parking tomorrow. Hopefully...

The conversion of the van from "Hanks Toybox" to Finagon is still under construction. We will probably be kiscking around ideas til showtime.

I've had the van for a year and a half and am a devoted "westy" nut. I am out nearly weekend, and vacations and such are planned based on the van. It is also nicknamed "basecamp" as I carry the backpack, tent and gear along with my kayak, bike, gps (geaocaching). No laidback, KOA style for me.
Do you know that Bubba bought a Volkwagen Vanagon last year? It is a "syncro" 4 wheel drive with an adventurevan camper conversion. heard it is "to the hilt". Hope to meet up with him on the road some time. if he does not geocache as of yet (I'd be surpreised) I'd love to introduce him to the "sport".

Hmmm . . . If I remember correctly a "Westy" Vanagon has:

A fridge
A stove
A sink (w/10+ gallons fresh water)
A toilet
Two double beds
Heat
Lights
Air Conditioning(?)
110v Power Outlets

Sounds a lot more laid back than the leaky tent camping I've done in the past  :P

BTW I hope those Syncros have a bigger engine than the ~90hp on the typical Vanagon.

Woo Hoo!!! TWO WEEKS!!!
I searched the Kraft Foods website and Jell-O doesn't list Margarita flavor as an active flavor. Possibly they list it when it is the correct 'season' for it, though wouldn't this be it?

They did list a few recipes that included that flavor, so we know that Jell-O admits to having made it at least once.

2 weeks for us, one week for the first RM broadcast, plus the Hoot soundtrack comes out next week too!!

I went to see Ice Age 2 over the weekend, partially so I could see the Hoot trailer again. I woke up this morning singing Good Guys Win!

 Well ya know.....the correct "season" for Margarita flavored jello would be Buffett season of course!!

I actually found it last fall in the SuperWalmart (blech!) and grabbed the last 2 boxes from the shelf. It said it was a limited edition........soooooo you may or may not find it anywhere. It wasn't really that long ago.....so I was hoping that even if it was discontinued that there might still be a few strays laying around here and there. It sure did make a great shot! Tasted like you were slurping a slimey margarita....to a T! :D :wench:

Nicely done Polly. It's a bit big, but I was able to get the link from 'quoting' you and look at in a separate window.

I like how you have the lawn Parrots all phlocked together.

Would this be a bad time to mention that I found 2 seats, together, in Row E of section 202 on Sunday? I didn't buy them, as I'm squeezing as much as I can from the budget I have. They may have been behind the mixer, but they won't completely block the way.

If I find anything in the 100's, I'll buy, then figure out how I'm going to pay for them.

I'll update the seating chart as it gets closer to the show. Hopefully more people will send me thier seats so I can add them to the chart.

Although not the the 100s I believe Harbour Shark has extra tickets in section 204 for less than face and I have one in 202 but check out the ticket exchange forum for those. (I'd suggest buying from a BNer with more than 2 posts though). How many in your group? If you split up into singles you might score closer (but separate) seats.

Good point about the "luxuries" of a westy there Polly. If the weather is good, I am about as inclined to put up the tent and cook outdoors though.
Wet weather camping was definitely a motiviator in getting the van.I don't know the specs on the syncro. My van does not have a heater or built in toilet.

Ticket Master on available premium parking, and it appears nothing is available. Shoreline referred me directly to them. Oh well...thanks for the offer though.
What are the plans with the cell #'s?

For those of us in lawn area, Shoreline told me there is a 6" height restriction, so that limits us to beach chairs. We plan on laying down a tarp and the chairs, mainly to "mark our territory". We all know how that ends up though...

Island Hopper. '72 bus was definitely nice. My mother had a bus and a vanagon. think she liked the bus better. "72 popped from the back, right?

Clarifying carry in chairs for lawn seating

Post by Changing Channels »

Let me say that the 6" height restriction would be for the seat level, not the overall height. :D
