Mr. Sam is Wood County's most excellent outdoor cooker!

He is our main chef for fundraisers . . . and I had his brisket last Saturday night at the Spelling Bee and it was (sp)ork tender and soooo yummy!

well.. I will certainly take my beads off to him.

I would LOVE for Mr. Sam to be able to come to HOOT ISLAND.

He would "get it" . . . and enjoy every minute.

This is one, kewl, hip senior citizen!

Here's a photo of him at the opening of the Light Crust Doughboys Hall of Fame and Museum.....what a sweetie!

And, for those of you not from Texas/the South....that's chicken and beef stew he's stirring. He totes those heavy cast iron skillets all over this county. God bless him.

Just found out I might be driving from here!! If that happens, well, regardless of whether I drive or fly, I'm bringin a guitfiddle and lots of rhum, and a few water guns(rhum guns, actually)

75-85 to ATL then 285 to 20, and 20 all the way to Dallas! Used to make the trip all the time. Straight through in 18-20hrs. I'm not as young as I used to be, but I think I can still manage it!

Partial to Cruzan Estate Dark, aged 2 years in old oak sherry casks. It's YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!! But as long as it was made from sugarcane, on a warm island with blue water around it, I'm a happy camper!!

Connie keeps forgetting to tell everyone that she's in Savannah all the time, too. And even has my phone number, but she never calls!

I like Baurbancourt. There's another one I LOVE, but it's not available in the States called Lucayan. It's made in the Turks&Caicos. It's real yummy!

Actually had breakfast there at 3:00am. Was just like I remembered it, only you can't smoke there anymore!
