Here's a satellite view of the venue and parking from Google Earth.
Up is north and that's the Cotton Bowl in the top left corner.
Parking is generally free with the cost of the ticket and there aren't many restrictions on tailgating.
The lots should be open early, probably before noon.

I love the venue. Is it in the best neighborhood? No. But, the cops are cool and the tailgating is awesome!

Now, if if I can just get my camera back from Polly and Jack!

There are a few. They tend to be the type that rents by the hour, or the week..

No show on my birthday so I'll have to celebrate a little late this year. I'll probably be making my second trip to Dallas.

Here is another link to some reputable hotels near Fair Park (near being a relative term).
Most of these should be ok except the Palace Suites - although their ad says they have oversized beds with black lighting...

Except for the STOOOOPID restrictions on Love Field.... doesn't work well from outside the TX/OK area.

It'd be cool if we all stayed at the same hotel and if we all chipped in for the RV, we could ride in it to the venue.

bummer. when you fly into dfw, you have to tack on a huge cab fare to go anywhere in the city.

i know continental is flying into love from houston. i might fly up. right now it is as cheap to do that than filling up my truck for the round trip

GREAT idea, there HP. I've looked into an RV. Something like $350 for three days. Was going to pick it up on Thursday and return on Saturday.

I'm sure there are better deals.

I'll have my car, too, to play TAXI to and from the airport.

Love Field isn't that far from the venue. D/FW, on the other hand, is WAY out there. I could prolly drive to my house in east Texas and back in the time it will take to get out and back to D/FW.
