Yes. I'll put a wristband aside for him in the RV. What's his name?

I don't want to speak for everyone, but I say abso-friggin-lutely. And he can have my wristband, if need be, so tell him yes!

And furthermore, IMHO, I think PHritz's Marine buddy should be our Honored Guest on Hoot Island. Whaddya think, Islanders?

I don't know, but I think it's really important to the mods that we stay on topic and not make adding lots of pages a goal....

Is this a leave or has he finished his enlistment?
If it's a leave when will he be going back, and is there anything he needs/wants to take back to his buds?

Check this out - Hoot Island has its very own toll-free hotline.

The hotline number is 1-800-604-0838.

It's working now, so everyone program it into your phones. I'll update the recording on Thursday after we start getting things set up. I'll try to keep it updated so everyone knows where we are, what we're doing, and if there are any changes. Call the hotline number first and if you still can't find us, use the cell phone numbers that Auntie sent out.

Ringling is distributing a more complete cell phone number list - PM him with your cell phone and email address if you want a copy of that...

question about Joe's

when we get there, do we need to say that we are with the "BN group" or "out on the balcony" or what?

The Hotline Number is 1-800-604-0838
The recording will be updated periodically. Please call the hotline first, and if you still can’t find us, use the cell phone numbers that Auntie sent out.

The Hoot Island party is now full
Everyone is welcome to bring their own stuff and come visit with us, but there will be no new wristbands or custom nametags.
The only exception is wristbands for people already on the list who have more people in their party.

For anyone wondering where we'll be or what to look for
HOOT ISLAND is at the white circle in this satellite shot. The street below the parking lot is S Fitzugh.
The GPS coordinates for Hoot Island are;
32 46 39.7 N
96 45 5.1 W

We shouldn't be too hard to find. Yes we are really planning to have everything in this picture.

Here's an overview map of the DFW area. For reference, Market Center to Smirnoff is about 6 miles.

Here's a map showing where Hoot Islanders are coming from. Surprise / Secret Guest locations are not shown.

For anyone who doesn't believe us
Here’s a video from our Texas Stadium 2004 tailgate that opharbour put together
http://media.putfile.com/Texas_Stadium_2004

Here are some pictures that headparrot took that weekend;
http://photobucket.com/albums/v224/head ... ailgate04/

How it works
Lots open at 8AM on Friday. There is no charge to just hang out and bring your own stuff, but only people with wristbands will have access to all of the stuff. It isn’t fair for people who didn’t pay anything to eat all the food, drink all the beer, and fill up the restrooms. The wristbands are being sent out this week so we don’t have to worry about handing them out at the tailgate.

We're using the money to cover costs for food, beer, and other one-use items. And if there is any surplus after expenses, it will be used to supplement the Phruitcakes in the Kitchen donation to Hospice.

All of the people sending advance donations are our “Hoot Island Natives”. In addition to the wristbands for these people and their guests, Phins1026 made special nametags. The custom nametags also entitle the person to a special gift bag with all sorts of goodies (one bag per family or couple please).

Donations and ExpensesClick Here for more details
Promised - $3,870
Received - $3,820

Music
ABQkeet is a deejay in Albuquerque. He is getting a professional sound system and will be spinning tunes at the tailgate party. If you want to bring your CD's, please bring them in a case marked with your name. He wants to make sure that everyone leaves with what they brought.

Tailgate Phood
At the tailgate, we'll have a lowcountry boil and crawfish boil. We'll also have brisket and cheeseburgers for the non-seafood eaters. ETP is bringing plenty of other stuff too.

Thursday 4/27 - Dinner at Joe's Crab Shack
East Texas Parrothead wrote:Just talked to the Joe's Crab Shack manager. North Stemmons and Loop 12. . . about 10 minutes from our hotel.

Here's a link to the map - - - http://www.google.com/local?hl=en&lr=&q ... 0542206926

They have a room for us if there is less than 60 of us.

They will let us have the entire patio if there are 60 or more.

They'll block off the patio area for us. We can bring the sound system and spin OUR OWN tunes all night. It's partially under cover in case of rain.

.25 appetizers
Discounted beer
Happy Hour on other drinks
Our own waitstaff

NO deposit. NO cover charge, fees, etc.

They LOVE parrotheads. Manager said they've hosted a LOT of pre-show parties/phlockings!

Has anyone ever eaten at Pollo Campero, a latin fried chicken restaurant? It was featured on Food Network over the weekend and the chicken looked DELICIOUS! It's between that and Sonny Bryan's BBQ for Saturday, I think!
