i missed a DD from R2 - so i have a feeling the party is going on rather nicely....

Hoot Island is coming together better than I had imagined.
The bug killer worked. I was there at 9AM to talk to the Dallas motorcycle cops, and I sprayed another treatment of Diazinon just in case. All of the ant beds are gone.
Everything fit on D PHarm Boy's trailer, so I don't have to rent a U-Haul.
The tire swing was up at noon. Piece of cake and it rides like a charm.
The hot tub, pool, and water slide have their own spots on the island.
The still looks awesome.
The portapotties are situated perfectly across the alley in a parking spot by the fence.
There was a scare around 4PM. Parking security came up and told us there is a new tailgating area in the lower lot and we had to move. I asked them why, and they said there was a ton of trash left at the last concert. I showed them the 4 trash barrels and offered a cleanup deposit to let us stay. After checking out our setup they realized we are responsible party people, they decided to let us stay without a deposit.
Hoot Island is a GO! Hopefully the weather will hold out but if not, what the hell. We have a big EZ Up, the RV's have awnings and I have a couple of tarps we can string between them.
This is going to be a party to remember.

Joe's was cool - way more people than I thought would come. We had the boys with us so we left around 8:15. They had a blast playing on the playground and feeding the ducks, fish, and turtles.

Oh and 1 phor the road showed up with water just like he said he would, so the hot tub is full and is heating overnight.

An empty Corona and a Glass of Limes in honor of the Elrod and Penny......
We had a FABULOUS time. It was so great to meet (not meat) everyone and wonderful to finally get a hug from Santa.....

Phun at Joes???...Yes indeed...It was sooo nice to see everyone again and to put faces with the screennames of those I'd not met before...phunny how some pholks you just reconize phrom their online personality!!!
Well, sweet island dreams phellow parrottheads...we're tying up loose ends and then gonna get to sleep so we can be rested phor a phun philled day on HOOT ISLAND!!
