Yes that party sure did kickass!!!

We had a great time. Really want to thank four play, etp and auntie for such a great job of coordination. Met a bunch of really cool BN'rs. Too bad Jimmy only played one night!
If he had played more--he might have killed the BNers

Did anyone else notice there wasn't a parkinglot video?
maybe because of the rain?
I'm sure someone will listen to the recording of the show again, but didn't Jimmy say that the video guy got drunk? LOL

Maybe they sent all the video equipment to Jazzfest to get ready for the simulcast of that...

or maybe it was in Winter Park, FL for that simulcast that I had never heard of him doing. (Weren't they having a big time!)

And, thanks for NETWomen, too, Kevin.
Is that what we are too, eventhough we're not from Northeast Texas?
Sure. But you have to rat your hair and wear really guady clothes!

That photo just made me swoon.

Northeast Texas Women - Willis Alan Ramsey - Covered by Jimmy at Hoot Island - Dallas 2006

Home South of oklahoma, east of New Mexico,
West of Louisiana where all them Cajuns go
We gotta a little place called Texas
Where the women grow on trees.
They’re right there for the pickin’ just as easy as you please

Chorus:
And you better run take hold
You’re gonna get young ’fore you get old
And them Texas women is Texas gold
With kisses that are sweeter than cactus
Oh...

North of Amarillo, east of old Dime Box
You can find your Cinderella or a genuine Goldilocks
And if ya don’t like love attachments, if your taste in women is strange
Then go on and spend your money, my friend, down in old La Grange

And you better tell it to the world
You want to get a Lone Star girl
With her cast iron curls
And her aluminum dimple
And it’s so simple

North of Waxahachie, east of old Cowtown
Them Dallas women standin’ up beat the others lyin’ down

Well God bless the Trinity River and any man who is unaware
Of the northeast Texas women with their cotton candy hair
Gentilly ... 42 years is a long time to wait .... a Northeast Texas woman can hope.
My love is an anchor tied to you, tied with a silver chain.

I had completely forgotten that Jimmy did Northeast Texas Women at the Dallas Stadium show. GREAT lyrics.

Does "big time" mean having a Boston Terrier Dog "chug beer"? I didn't like those images.

I dropped off the generators this morning and was at Hoot Island by 8AM. Thanks to PHritz, Wes, Kojak, Stew, ETP, SGH, AB, and Michael for the help cleaning up. Parking management came by and said they were totally cool with everything we did. He gave me a few cards and told me to call him directly if we have any special requirements for next time.

We went on a 3 hour tour on the boat today, sheared the prop pin and got towed back in. We went to the Brad Paisley concert tonight and hung out on Hoot Island before and after the concert.

We had $120 donated at the tailgate party. ETP got $60 and PHritz got $60 to help pay for having their RV's cleaned. They were pretty muddy and it seemed like the right thing to do.

As Mayor of Hoot Island, I have a couple of final duties to fulfill. Everyone who got a custom nametag will get a copy of the Dallas concert in the next week or 2 - one per group. I already have the addresses to send them to. PM me if you DON'T need a copy and I'll take you off the list.

I need some help with the cd's

I sent custom nametags to about 60 addresses. Each address will get 1 copy of the show, so that's 120 cd's total. Let me know if you don't have a burner and need more.

gingerbread man has a clean recording and he is breaking it into tracks today. I've asked him to make 10 cd's and send them out to the first set of people. I'll make 10 copies from my master and get them out asap. I need 4 volunteers to do the same. opharbour said he is willing to help, but I don't want to use him because he's already doing the video.

By doing it this way, the vine is only 3 layers from top to the bottom and nobody is doing more than 10 copies. I'm not active in the trading section of the board, so let me know if you see any flaws in this approach...

Customer Survey

I thought about putting this in a separate thread, but I'd rather keep it here if the mods and phjim will allow it to stay open a few more days.

I am looking for ideas that would have made this party better. I want to have a list of things to improve in case we end up doing this again. I have a few ideas of my own but I need your help in putting that list together.

Everyone please take some time to answer these questions honestly and add any comments or suggestions of your own.

1. How would you rate your Hoot Island party experience on a scale of 1 to 10? (1 being poor and 10 being outstanding)
2. What did you think about the location?
3. Did you have trouble finding it?
4. Do you feel like you got your money's worth?
5. Did you get enough to eat and drink?
6. Did we have enough porta potties?
7. Do you think there were too many people?
8. Do you think we should have set a price and put a limit on the number of wristbands?
9. Did you think of anything we needed that wasn't there?
10. What would you have done differently to make it better?
11. Please share any other comments or suggestions.

Did they ever come around and charge parking for the night before the concert?

Lost and Found

We found a few things cleaning up yesterday. If you're missing anything, post a description or send me a PM and we'll let you know if we have it or not.

I'm missing a couple of orange extension cords and the cover to the big EZ-Up I brought. Let me know if you have them.
