Man, its almost been 2 months since my trip and I haven't even been on BN! I need to get my priorities straight. Well, the cruise was ok, but of course Key West was freakin' awesome! Here are the things we did and thoroughly enjoyed............
-Walked up Duval street to the La Concha to reminisce about getting engaged their less than 2 years ago.
-Stopped in the Blonde Giraffe to share a piece of Chocolate-Covered Frozen Key Lime Pie on-a-stick. Oh my God! It was almost orgasmic!
-Walked to the Lighthouse, but didn't go up because we didn't want to pay. However, the guy was nice and let us walk around the courtyard.
-Walked down to the Southernmost Point and took a picture. We missed this last time and definatley wanted to get that memorable picture for the photo album. Long walk, but it was worth it.
-The sun was beginning to set and it was cooling off a little, so we headed to finish cooling down at Kelly's during happy hour. What a great place! It was nice and quiet and the locals and other tourists were friendly and great to talk to. You won't find Margaritas of the quality cheper anywhere and the bartenders were extremely friendly and very good! Huge Kudos to whoever suggested Kelly's for happy hour, my wife and I absolutely loved it!
-With our bellies full of 'Ritas and no care in the world, we headed down to check out the craziness at Mallory Square and watch the sunset. We saw Alan Jackson's dad on Alan's boat. We also saw a dude jump off the top of an extension ladder he was balancing on to a 20ft high unicycle and juggle knives and fire. Very impressive and humorus! The only sucky thing was that the sun went behind the clouds just above the water.
-Then it was to dinner at the Schooner Warf. I had the Key West Seafood Sampler AND IT WAS AWESOME!!! The grilled Mahi Mahi was to die for! The breeze was just right and the price wasn't bad either.
-Since I didn't do it last time, I stopped by Sloppy Joe's and then Captain Tony's for a couple of beers. I actually go to meet Tony and get my picture made. I'll post it later for you all.
-On the way back to the ship, we had to stop by the Blonde Giraffe and get another slice of the that Chocolate-Covered frozen Key Lime Pie on a stick. Man, that stuff is incredible!
Our afternoon and evening in Key West was great! I can't wait to go back! Thanks for all of the suggestions!
