Can anyone post politely on my behalf the rage I am feeling over these prices???? I can't do it right now because I may expouse something I might regret later!

relax pholks, remember that we're talking about San Francisco here. The median price of most new homes is well over $600k
Everything is jacked up in that area. Now if we start to see a trend at other non-west coast venues of $100+ tickets, that would be a different situation.
you can't lay on the beach and drink rum all day if you don't start in the morning

Upon closer inspection: the pricing is not a & b, it's from A TO B on the prices..

I know this won't be popular, but ...
As I recall, the top price at the 5 stadium shows last year was about $140, wasn't it? A lot of people complained about the high prices then too, didn't they? All 5 of those shows sold out.
And for everyone complaining about the high prices already this year, I assume everyone is willing to take a pay cut so your employers can charge their customers less. Or if you're self-employed, you'd be willing to accept less than market rate for your skills because some people think what you're charging is too high.
Frie away.

Now multiply that $42 times the number of tickets being sold - that's what he's charging for his time.ToplessRideFL wrote:fins4813 wrote:http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/1C003 ... norcatid=1

I'm not complaining about ticket prices, but let's be realistic...

I dont either.... however it is 2006.... and everybody has a hand out... the band, the crew, the venue, the promoter.... it just seems to me $36-$126 is not a bad range considering the economy we live in......RinglingRingling wrote:

Probably not, but it might be hard to keep fuel in that Falcon he just bought at only $35/hr/head.RinglingRingling wrote:I don't think he'd starve to death at $35/hour/head...Four Play wrote:Now multiply that $42 times the number of tickets being sold - that's what he's charging for his time.ToplessRideFL wrote:fins4813 wrote:http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/1C003 ... norcatid=1

Considering top price for the Stones was $454.50 (at least in NY, I don't know about other cities), Cream was about $275 (maybe higher, I sat in the cheap seats) and lots of other acts charge $200+, I think the prices are pretty reasonable.ToplessRideFL wrote:I dont either.... however it is 2006.... and everybody has a hand out... the band, the crew, the venue, the promoter.... it just seems to me $36-$126 is not a bad range considering the economy we live in......RinglingRingling wrote:

Jon Secada is fetching $35 at the Dreamcatcher Lounge in the Viejas Casino in San Diego but Neil Sedaka is only able to command $14 at the Colorado State Fair in Pueblo.ToplessRideFL wrote:Toby Keith is charging $140 as the top price this tour
Coldplay - $96
Hall and Oates $35
Keith Urban $38.... that one surprises me
Moody Blues...Friday night in Clearwater...$62.50
So I do believe that Jimmy is right in line with the price range...
This deserves more research...

At the upcoming Strawberry Festival here in Florida... All prices are fixed @ $15... and that is a huge jump from 2 years ago.... where I saw Martina, Vince, George Jones and Toby Keith for $5 a show!!!
The shows run one/two a day for 10 days....... and for the first 2500 peeps..are free. Obviously supplimented by the festival.... but its a pretty good deal.
I am seeing Willie Nelson this year..

The band ad the crew, sure. I don't think he really needs a concert promoter at this stage... That cuts one hand off right at the elbow.ToplessRideFL wrote:I dont either.... however it is 2006.... and everybody has a hand out... the band, the crew, the venue, the promoter.... it just seems to me $36-$126 is not a bad range considering the economy we live in......RinglingRingling wrote:
