A friend and I are coming down to Atlanta from Nashville for the concert next weekend. Since Buffett decided not to come back to Nashville AGAIN this year, I just had to get my fix and come to Atlanta. I know you don't know me and I don't know if this is rude to ask, but can we join ya'll for tailgating? We're willing to pitch in $$$ or whatever you need.

Also, we are staying in buckhead. Is it best to just take the MARTA to the Ft. Lakewood stop and get a taxi from there? Thanks for any help and I can't wait until next weekend!!

You will have plenty of tailgate opportunities, whether if it's with this group or not. If you're staying in Buckhead, it depends on what time you intend to get there whether or not to even think about driving. Rush hour is horrendous, but if you get there late morning to early afternoon, you should be fine. Driving back to Buckhead is another issue, though. MARTA is an option, but you'll have trouble carrying everything you might want.

I've been going to Cinci since Atlanta was ignored, but am returning. Any firm info on when the lot opens? See different times. Also, just posted an add for 3 lawn tix.

Also, when I got laid off a while back I opened my own little business, one offering being t-shirts, so I've been taking a few along for ParkingLotParrotheads to Cinci and will do the same this year. Pigment dyed shirts, cool design. I'll throw in a shirt for the three tix at face and fees if that will help. Sorry it's so damned big. Can't figure out how to downsize it.

Just checked the 10 day forecast and it kinda sucks, 60% chance of rain. But thats good cause they can't correctly call a forecast 10 days out to save their life. And if they say rain, expect sun!

Not sure if this helps, but we are staying in Buckhead as well and have rented a SUV to throw our stuff in. We should have room if you guys need a ride. We would probably be looking to arrive around 10ish..Let us know

The forecast is hanging on to the 60% chance with temps in the mid 80s.

"She wore geckos round her neck and bracelets on her feet
A superstitious woman from the land of sugar cane
She'd sing the sun to bed and dance out in the rain
Dance out dance out dance out dance out in the rain"

Lakewood is saying gates (parking lot, that is) will open at 9:30am. But beware, that can mean nothing. They are somewhat less than organized!

Question about tailgating ...

by cmathies
Hey all, I heading over to the show with a few friends and we were looking for a place to tailgate. I noticed on Hi-Fi Buys amphitheatre website that they prohibit alcohol in their parking lots (it's @ the bottom of the directions).
http://www.hob.com/venues/concerts/hifi ... ctions.asp

Does everyone just ignore this prohibition for Jimmy or is there lots nearby to tailgate in? I know in Cincinnati and Raleigh we had to tailgate next door, but it was walkable to the show.

Any help would be great ... I am bringing some newbies with to the show!

Thanks ...
