I got tix to GW 8/12 for my birthday today!!! :D :D :D

Was there years ago but didn't know I was going until 30 minutes before leaving for the show, so...have a few questions! I read through this thread and didn't really see the answers so here goes- how early can you show up? can anyone bring an rv and can you stay in the lot? any way to get to hotels/campgrounds besides driving my sorry drunken ass?

I'm so excited- it's DH's first show and he's been a phan longer than I so I can't wait to show him the KKRAZINESS!

Thanks to anyone who answers!
I've got a caribbean soul I can barely control and some Texas hidden here in my heart...

GW 9/2/00 and 8/12/06!

how early can you show up? The lot is open when the first car arrives, usually around 8AM

can anyone bring an RV and can you stay in the lot? Anyone can bring an RV but you can't stay in the lot over night, they have an section for all the RV's on the far right, you could spend 10 hours in that RV section and still not see it all.

any way to get to hotels/campgrounds besides driving my sorry drunken ass? There are cabs or you could network before the show and try to secure a ride back to where ever you are going.

I don't really know many of you at all but I'm hoping to change that this year. I will be there bright and early this year (10 am) so please feel free to stop on by. There will be plenty of margaritas and jello shots for you as well as karaoke. Just look for the big yello Nissan Xterra.

If I do end up going to these shows there may be a problem. I usually go low key as I'd rather hang otu and party then get into problems. I'll bring the Yankees hat on the trip but I wouldn't wear a Yankees hat to the Jones Beach show so wearing it here seems unneccesary.

Little to early to do some serious tailgate planning for 8/12 but fan van will be there with the rv and the 6 foot pink flamingo hanging from the 20 foot flag pole---daughter #3 flying in from Denver for concert so i will put her in charge of phlanning the tailgate. I am working on the Pittsburg tailgate and will bring a few ideas from there---tiki bar-- blender drinks--limbo bar---etc

FYI: you're not bringing THAT hat in the same truck with me! I'll toss your luggage before we leave if I have too! (Don't worry, I've got a Red Sox hat you can borrow :D )

Daughter #3 Planning a Tailgaiting party....

Post by SWIARSS »

Ok Dad, you want me to plan it...
We get in the lot at 9am (make sure we do not park by jerks), start the blender at 10am and drink until the concert starts!

Sound like a plan??? I think it sounds good! My Daddio taught me well :)

By the way everyone I have the best Dad in the world...who is only going to 2 concerts this year because I can't make the Pitts. one due to work :)
Love ya Dad!!!

The only reason is because of all the prep work it takes to get the motor home decorated :)
But like my dad said, I must not be ready to plan such an event...so I'm gonna let him take over and do it :) Seeing he's such a pro!!!

My thoughts exactly!!! the blender should be ready to go the moment you step out of the car!! (actually before you even get to the lot!! )
