Just heard from the Tweeter and they emphatically stated lots open @ 5:00PM - and no alcohol allowed in the parking lot this year - violarors will be subject to arrest. Guess this was due to all the trouble in previous years. A chosen few have ruined it for everyone!!!!

That SUCKS!!!

So what does all this mean??? Will they really hold everyone out until a few hours before the show... is this logistically possible, and if yes, where else can we call go? It's not like there are any nice places to go in Camden. Are there any lots not owned or run by the waterfront?

kcz27: The question you should ask your friend who works security at the TC is when the parking attendents are scheduled to arrive for work. If they are scheduled to arrive at 9:00 or 10:00 (like they were 2 years ago) we can assume that the lots will open around 12:00.
I just called the parking authority since they are the ones that own the RiverSharks lots, used the "special events parking" ext and got voicemail. I'll try again throughout the day until someone answers. You guys are welcome to try calling as well and we'll see what kind of answer they give us. 856-757-9300 ext 32.

Does anyone else think its beyond appropriate that we park in the "Riversharks" lots? I know its a walk but the name just works!

My other thought which I posted a while back is that we're going to get down there early with a lot of other true phans, I'd rather end up in a lot with a lot of other true phans than a bunch of jackarses which is what we might end up with if we wait around to get in a lot.
Did anyone hear back from the parking authority?

Okay, I am going a little crazy over what time the lots open and all (I have put out a lot of money for supplies that would be wasted if we can't get in until 4:00 - 5:00) and I am trying to come-up with a plan B just in case the lots are closed...

Has anyone ever parked on the Philly side? Do they allow tailgating in the Penns Landing p-lots? If they do, then I wouldn't mind riding the Ferry over for the concert.

the ferry is often used when they have the concerts on the waterfront and festivals at Penns Landing. It is definitely not a big lot by any imagination. I think there are a few more down the street on the opposite side of the road.

Tailgating in those? I guess anything is possible.

I cannot believe the Tweeter has banned alcohol in their parking lots. I have never seen anything about it in the papers and usually somebody will write about it.

See ya on Tues.

I can't see them arresting 20,000 phans and I was under the impression there were "Jimmy Rules" in place for all his shows ...hell they even changed the rules at Mohegan for him...

Let's not get all panicky about the lots just yet. They've posted things like this in the past for other shows and it panned out to either not be true or just a rumor until the people arrived.

Everybody calm down... I assure you the lots will be open. Riversharks first and as that fills others will follow. If they don't have the demand, the lots won't open until 4pm, but guess what...they will have the demand.

Two years ago, I pulled up to a lot and was told it didn't open until 4pm (this was at 2pm). I pulled around the block once and as I came around the lot opened at 2:03pm.

So don't believe the "official" word.

You are right in that we have heard this before; I just hope that its not true again this year.

Is there anyway we can find out what time the parking staff is scheduled to arrive for work that day. I can't imagine a situation where they are scheduled to be at the lot in the early morning only to sit there until 4-5 in the afternoon before people are allow in.

As for the no drinking... Most lots have a strict "no alcohol" policy that is never enforced. Hell, even at Jones Beach (which is a STATE PARK) they let you drink as long as its concealed.

I am hopeful that this is justa nasty rumor.
