New CD this summer?

I have been down in Key West since Wilma and have seen the Band 3 times over at Shrimp Boat Sound. We went for Happy beers at Conch Republic last night and Mike Utley and Roger Guth were outsice sitting down. I called Peter Mayer and am waiting for a return call about the new cd.
Anyone hear anything?

Buffett is recording a new album. I think the last word was that it may possibly be released in the fall.

Not necessarily. Buffett named one of his 90s tours after Havana Daydreamin', an album that came out in the 70s. A more recent example would be the Salty Piece of Land tour, which wasn't named after an album at all. There's also plenty of other examples where tours weren't named after albums, one being The Outposts tour.

I would seriously doubt the new album would be released so quickly after the soundtrack for Hoot.

Buffett has several new songs (four?) on the soundtrack. He could ride that album easily through the summer. It would not make sense from a marketing standpoint to put out an album on the heels of the soundtrack.

A new album would make more sense in the late fall moving into the Christmas season. Otherwise, a release before an '07 tour would be logical.

But, as we've all said time and again, if Mailboat Records is involved, anything is possible.
