March Madness is a lot of fun. My brother still hasn't gotten over your Mountaineers beating Wake Forest last year in the second round after he had them going all the way.
The best part is rooting for all the mid majors like Creighton, Southern Illinois, etc., especially the ones that get the at-large bids.
And the Big East IMO is by far the best conference in the NCAA, followed by the SEC, and it'll be interesting to see how many teams get in from each conference.

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

it will not be interesting to see for the SEC, they will do what they do every year, go in with high hopes and no one make it to the 8, now I hope im oh so very wrong, but Florida always loses in the second round. This is just wishful thinking, based on the bracket Im thinking UT could make it to 8. But I'm puttin my money on my original statement, they will hurt all of us here in the south.jonesbeach10 wrote:March Madness is a lot of fun. Wow - I tell you what, WVU beating Wake Forest busted my bracket, but I was pretty happy about it! What an EXCITING UPSET! I mean, it's just games like that that make it such an exciting tourney! Nobody is guarenteed anything. Once you make it to the dance, you can dance with anybody!!!!jonesbeach10 wrote:March Madness is a lot of fun. Ya, the 'Eers are looking tough again. Slight 3-4 game slump while on the road in the Big East (6 games in 11 days!!!), but they upset Pitt on Monday! woohoo

Well, IMO, March Madness is the most exciting thing going on in sports! Bring it on!
Go Mountaineers!
This is one of my favorite times of year for sure. March madness, JB tour dates annouced and gearing up for several of my favorites hobbies in April!!
The Buckeyes have surprised some people this year by playing team ball, defense and one of the best coaches in the country. And hopefully, IU will not be able to pull him away. With the recruiting class Matta has coming in next year, I don't think he will leave but he IS from Indiana......

I remember when Gonzaga was the sleeper team one year and made it exciting to watch to see how far they could go.
Anyone have any sleeper teams they think will go far this tourney?

I remember Manhatten a couple of years ago.BahamaBreeze wrote:I hope you are wrong and ONE of the SEC team makes it to the elite 8.thegoatgod wrote:it will not be interesting to see for the SEC, they will do what they do every year, go in with high hopes and no one make it to the 8, now I hope im oh so very wrong, but Florida always loses in the second round. I'd watch out for the Colonial Athletic Conference. James Madison and UNC Wilmington are both very good and either could make a case for an at-large bid. I would add my favorite local team, Hofstra, but they lost 1st Team All-CAA star Loren Stokes to an ankle injury. He should be ready for teh conference tourney, but we're gonna have to wait to see.
But I definitely think the CAA could make some noise come Tourney Time.

I have heard of the schools, just didn't know the conference. Well I just hope it doesn't come down to a Duke and UConn final...tired of the same old same old.jonesbeach10 wrote:I remember Manhatten a couple of years ago.BahamaBreeze wrote:I hope you are wrong and ONE of the SEC team makes it to the elite 8.thegoatgod wrote:it will not be interesting to see for the SEC, they will do what they do every year, go in with high hopes and no one make it to the 8, now I hope im oh so very wrong, but Florida always loses in the second round. Very good chance of that happening. That is one brutal conference!AlbatrossFlyer wrote:should be interesting this year. i just wonder if the selection committee will seed 2 big east teams in every bracket setting up a potential all big east final 4?
I love that the Madness always begins right on or around St. Patty's day. Two of my favorite events, rolled into one!

I completely agree, and the MVC and CAA could each get more than two teams in the dance. When was the last time a single mid-major conference, let alone two got more than 2 teams in the tourney? However, if Syracuse beats Cincy in the first round of the Big East tourney, it could throw a wrench into that, sincy Cincy is prolly already in because it has a good RPI and strength of schedule, but Cuse needs at least one win to get into the dance, and maybe a very good showing against UCONN in the second round. Gonzaga also ALMOST threw a wrench into it. If they had lost, it probably would have taken away an at-large bid away from a bubble team as well. I love March Madness. Completely makes me forget about the rancid Knicks.BahamaBreeze wrote:Missouri Valley Conference will be represented by the Salukis.
I love saying that name. Just rolls off your tongue...
