Mal's-a-slacker Friday Fives!!!

Post by iuparrothead »

Well, since Ms. Mallory didn't make up the Friday Fives today... I'll do a late version myself!

1. In your workday, what percentage of time do you get actual work done?
Roughly 10% actual work; 90% chatting, web-surfing, wandering.

2. What are the 3 most frequented websites you visit during the workday?
Chicago Tribune, Craigslist, Hotmail (with Buffettnews coming in close 4th)

3. If your employer took away internet, do you think you would get a significant amount of more work done?
Yes and No... I simply don't have that much work to do right now so I'm not that concerned with how much time I'm wasting. But I suppose I could get a few more projects starting that I've been procrastinating doing for months now.

4. Do you spend time on the phone making personal calls? How much?
Not really. About a half hour at the very most talking to my boyfriend.

5. Do your co-workers realize how much time you waste at work (if any)? Are they worse?
No... and I plan to keep it that way! But yes, so if they were to find out about me, they have no room to criticize!

1. In your workday, what percentage of time do you get actual work done?
About 95% - its what I am paid to do .....

2. What are the 3 most frequented websites you visit during the workday?
Nil .

3. If your employer took away internet, do you think you would get a significant amount of more work done?
No, I only have email access, and only email externally every now and then. My staff would get a lot more done though if they were not emailing all the time- and hard to catch em :x

4. Do you spend time on the phone making personal calls? How much?
No - one first thing in the morning 4 days a week to my niece and nephew - lasts around 5 minutes.

5. Do your co-workers realize how much time you waste at work (if any)? Are they worse?
I dont waste it - I am a leader and try to lead by example .... and they are worst ..... our meeting on monday is going to be full of discussions on time wasting 8)

HEY!! Some of us have been working!!

1. In your workday, what percentage of time do you get actual work done?
For a long time, I didn't have that much work to do, and made slacking a good part of the day. As of late, though, I think I've reached capacity this week at about 75% actual work. Looks like it's gonna stay that way, at least for a while.

2. What are the 3 most frequented websites you visit during the workday?
BN/BW, Craigslist, 9news.com

3. If your employer took away internet, do you think you would get a significant amount of more work done?
Yes

4. Do you spend time on the phone making personal calls? How much?
Nope. Hubby works here too, so we IM eachother all day. Hardly talk on the phone at all, unless I have to call in for a conf call.

5. Do your co-workers realize how much time you waste at work (if any)? Are they worse?
Nope. I don't think so. There's not many people on my office, so it's kinda hard to say. I don't know if they are worse, I'm sure some people are.

1. In your workday, what percentage of time do you get actual work done?
75-80%, but I really slack toward the end of the day (like now  ).

2. What are the 3 most frequented websites you visit during the workday?
BN, ESPN.com, and CNN.com

3. If your employer took away internet, do you think you would get a significant amount of more work done?
Not really. I do need the internet for a little bit, but the only change would be that work gets done just a little faster

4. Do you spend time on the phone making personal calls? How much?
Not really. If someone needs to reach me, I leave cell phone on

5. Do your co-workers realize how much time you waste at work (if any)? Are they worse?
Yeah, but there culprits just as much as I am. :P

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,

Tonight I just need my guitar

1. In your workday, what percentage of time do you get actual work done?
I'd say 70-75%, more if we're approaching a deadline on one of the cases and a partner is in panic mode.

2. What are the 3 most frequented websites you visit during the workday?
Google (I do a lot of work-related searches there), an internet based database that one of our clients set up for company documents produced in litigation, Yahoo

3. If your employer took away internet, do you think you would get a significant amount of more work done?
Due to the nature of our work there are a lot of things we wouldn't be able to do if they took away internet access so the firm would never do it. They took away access to 3rd party email because of the threat of viruses so I had to close my Hotmail account but I figured out how to get into Yahoo.

4. Do you spend time on the phone making personal calls? How much?
I'm not a phone person so I'm only on the phone on personal calls if someone calls me.

5. Do your co-workers realize how much time you waste at work (if any)? Are they worse?
I'm in an office by myself, the computer monitor faces away from the door and almost everybody else in my department is on another floor and I get my work done on time, I think I'm pretty safe.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

1. In your workday, what percentage of time do you get actual work done?
I have a very compressed work-day of 4x75-minute classes with 20 minutes break mid-morning and 40 minute lunch. However, I am finished with students by 2:05! I work all day, much of the time with direct support.

2. What are the 3 most frequented websites you visit during the workday?
On school time, Google, Wikipedia, and Webquests (educational sites for students made by students and teachers).

3. If your employer took away internet, do you think you would get a significant amount of more work done?
Like Larry, the nature of my work has many internet-dependent functions. Schools use the web a great deal.

4. Do you spend time on the phone making personal calls? How much?
I have an assistant who screens calls and takes messages for me. If they are personal ones, I get back to someone on my break time or after the kids leave.

5. Do your co-workers realize how much time you waste at work (if any)? Are they worse?
There are some teachers in the school who do use it to check sports scores and their stocks, but we are on a group server that is monitored, so I feel safe in saying that no one goes anywhere inappropriate at work.

Don't really have it now and still do just cruise through the day not doing much

Maybe with the ball and chain a few times

5. Do your co-workers realize how much time you waste at work (if any)? Are they worse?
We're all county workers and that just the way that it's supposed to be.
I like to say that on my first day here over ten years ago, I worked until our 10 am break and have been on it ever since
My brother works with me and we call ourselves the "Do Nothin' Boyz".
And no, nobody is worse than us
