I think these are my two very favorites (though it's so hard to narrow down, really). I love Blue Heaven Rendezvous on Barometer and Creola on Floridays.

Hi Ringling! Calypso Poet here...that name was taken on this board... I posted a nice response to you on the other board (Can you believe it?) in case you haven't read it yet...

Big Rig is a GREAT song! Heck they're all great.

Mainly the early stuff such as White Sportcoat, Living & Dying In 3/4 Time, A1A, etc. I like all of his albums to varying degrees but feel he pretty much reached his peak songwriting-wise very early on.

That's great!!!!!! I'm going to have to get a vanity plate for mine; I just bought my first Jeep. By the time I'm done with it it's going to feel like you're on the beach just getting in and sitting down. Hee hee

I just love the steel drums on that album. Plus it reminds me of the days when my dad had a houseboat and we'd go cruising up and down the river listening to Floridays and Volcano.......ahhhhhhhh, good times, good times.

Yes, I agree, his most "inspired" work seemed to come in the 70s and 80s for sure from a songwriting standpoint. I love all the albums you mentioned! I forgot that Changes is one of my very favorites, maybe more than Barometer Soup. I knew I'd think of others later on and go, Dang, wait a minute, what about that one! Hee hee

That is a great song! I love the lyrics to it; definitely inspired stuff.

I am SO excited right now because in my band we started learning Grapefruit-Juicy Fruit last night, so I got to practice singing lead on it for the first time (different album I know, but I just had to share. Hee hee!) That's one of my all-time favorite songs of his.

We love Barometer Soup! Mrs. TR wants Barefoot Children to be the song on the CD alarm clock. I think it's a great choice.

However, since I do not have a copy of Floridays, my opinions might not matter as some will now declare I am not a true parrot head  :D
