Cool Jimmy column from Key West Citizen

Post by rudybreno »

Thought this was a cool column from the Key West Citizen...

...makes a good point. I never understood how Conchs can rip on Jimmy Buffett, and yet happily rake in all the tourist dollars. Isn't it safe to say he plays at least a small role in convincing folks to head down to KW?

Funny article.

I was there recently and picked up a stronger anti-Jimmy vibe...there's a perception he did nothing for KW post-Wilma (but was active in doing things for the Gulf Coast and New Orleans post-Katrina). I don't know how much he "owes" KW, and I've heard he does many things "under the radar," but he may be left off a few more Christmas/birthday list this year....

He's got a point...but it's human nature to complain (see various ticket threads here...lol).....if it wasn't downing Jimmy, it'd be someone or something else.

See the Citizen's Voice section for many examples. Fun read though.

Nice story, I've got a couple of his books and love that ghost tour. I've pretty much given up on quitting my job and moving to Key West, but maybe I can at least move closer to Florida...
...someplace farther south, where the water's warm, the drink's are cold, and I don't know the names of the players...

Great article!

What a life David has... chasing the Buffett lifestyle and retracing the places he's been... and getting paid to do it!

Sure wish I could land a slick job like that!

Seems like there IS a lot to complain about in KW!

My biggest fear is that when I die, my wife will sell all my Buffett stuff for what I said I paid for it!
