Got this forwarded from a friend today (who doesn't forward a lot of stuff).
Funny, but interesting, and kinda freaky too!

I didn't find anything on Snopes about it, so I hope it's true (well, sorta). Anyway...you know what I mean!

Thxz!!! Interesting !! No idea if it happened either. It was the first I saw of.
Thouroughly burning them and crushing the ashes, is a sure fire way to destroy them.
I don't think anyone will ever fully recover them from the thouroughly burned and crushed ashes, and put them back to gether.

I agree completely, although most of us wouldn't take the time.
I have been using a shredder for a couple of years now, on just about everything with my name on it that goes out in the trash, especially these credit card apps. My wife always laughs and makes jokes about "
Maxwell Smart and when am I gonna get a shoe phone"!
Even quality cross-cut shredders aren't effective against determined crooks (and snoops), but my hope is that they'll move on to "softer targets" after looking at my bag of confetti.
Cheers.

HOLY CRAP!

I've always wondered about that!
I usually tear up the junk mail applications and pitch half of the paper in one trash can and the other half in another. Rarely does the trash from my kitchen and bathroom go out at the same time so I hope I'm protecting myself a bit more by doing that!

Another benefit of being able to burn your trash.

I tear the credit card application up, put it in the postage paid return envelope and mail it back to them. If they're willing to pay the postage I'm more than willing to help them spend money.

I now have another way to amuse myself at the expense of annoying credit card companies. Thanks!
Cheers.

That's actually a really good idea.

Our shredder burned out a few months ago, so now we save it all 'til we go to FILs house and do it all at once. I think I'll just do that now, although it's probably better to use a public mailbox than a personal one as that's often a place where thieves target as well.
