I can't say much either. I paid almost $45 for my flip-flops. (Rainbows) The store that I bought 'em from had a pair on display that some dude had been wearing since the mid eighties. They lasted him that long so he thought he would put them on display for others to see how durable they are.
...and my head hurts too...

I bought everyone Rainbows this year. I told my daughter that I expect her to be wearing them when she goes away to college and my husband that he can be buried in them.

If I'm gonna spend that much money on shoes they sure as heck aren't gonna be ugly like those!
My shoes tend to be expensive since I have hard to fit feet...but I've never spent anywhere near that much on a pair of shoes.

To Paraphrase P.T. Barnum.........There is one born every minute..if you don't care about ticket prices then why do you care about how much some pays for shoes?
It was his or her ( hopefully hers) that bought the shoes. They bought the shoes as an individual. The shoes were not mass marketed like a concert is another thing.
Besides maybe he or she (hopefully a she) has a shoe fetish and gets off on them or in them or with them.
I see little or no comparison of your point.
Roll with the punches, play all of your hunches...come what may...

the most I pay for shoes is $110.... they're somewhat ugly...... but they have good support and are comfortable.... and won't cost me a MINT to have bunions repaired.....
