Noblesville Seating Question

Post by Hold r Newt »

Hi all! I'm new to the board. Been reading for a little bit, but just joined. I have a question on the lawn seating at Noblesville. Are all the lawn seats at Noblesville first come, first serve or are some of them reserved? I didn't get tickets this year, so I was think of getting lawn seats from the dreaded scalpers. I see some that say L10, L14 etc. Most say GA. Just wondering how that worked. Any help would be appreciated! Great Site! Wish I had found it long ago!

Well, I've never been to Noblesville, but I can almost assure you that lawn seating means "no seats". Lawn just means you get a piece of the lawn. There are no seats. Some places won't even allow you to bring a blanket. There are pros and cons about the lawn. Pros are that it's a helluva lot cheaper than in the pavillian, and you are free to roam around and meet fellow Parrotheads. Cons are, it often attracts the drunks and you may get peed on (LOL). There are lots of posts about the pros and cons of the lawn so just search on this site and you'll likely see them. Of course each venue is different as far as what kind of view you'll have and what kind of people it'll attract. Good luck.

Oh, and as far as the L10 and L14, that is just the lot number. Sometimes they are marked GA01 or GA08, etc. It's just how ticketmaster enters them into the database. There may be 1000 in each lot. And L10 doesn't mean you are any closer than L14. The earlier you get the closer you can get.

Thanks Dave. I figured it was survival of the fittest! Just wanted to make sure. We had seats in the back of section H last year. Not far in front of the lawn. It's just a big difference in price in most of the pavillion seats and lawn. Trying to figure what the best deal would be. You're right. It is just a piece of the lawn. I bought from a scalper last year. I was on ticketbastard this year at 10:00 and still couldn't get in. I want to go again this year, but prices are higher. Trying to get the best deal!!

Hey Hold r Newt...welcome to BN!! :D

And, you're going to the Indy show...good choice!

Yep, the lawn is all general admission, so it's squatters rights, if you will. The lawn will likely be a bit more raucous, but we'll have fun. (And I was probably sitting right behind you in section H last year! :o )

Good luck on finding tickets, and be sure to join in and meet other BNers before the show! http://www.buffettnews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=45698

I guess the real question is whether you want to pay premium for seats in the very back of the pavillion, or get the lawn seats for a whole lot less. I'd pay the $136, or whatever it is with fees, to be in the first couple of sections in the pavillion, but to sit in the back very back for a crappy view, no thanks. Not when the guy just a few feet behind me in the lawn paid $90 less per ticket. There should have been a third price level for those back pavillion seats. But again, it's supply and demand. After all, they all sold.

Keep checking Ticketbastard as seats often pop up even days after a sale. Tickets often get sent back from undeliverable addresses, etc. Also, check misspellings on eBay. Look for Jimmy Buffet or Bufett tickets (missing a "t" or an "f" in the name).

I'll keep looking too. If I see anything I'll let you know.

Thanks for the info guys. Looks like I might go for the lawn this year. I'll skip the show before paying a scalper some ungodly amount of money.
I really thought I would get tickets myself this year. I was locked in at 10 AM, said less than one minute, then 2min, then 3 min, 2min, then NO TICKETS AVAILABLE! I'm not the only one I guess!
We camped last year. There was not as many people in the campround as I thought would be. I live south of Bloomington, so I was able to enjoy some cold ones, and not worry about getting home that night.
Hope to see you all there.
