New book paints bad picture of Buffett

I have heard a good bit about the difficulty to work for Buffett. This is from 2 people in palm beach, and 3 in kw, and two of them are from the early 80's. So I am not surprised to hear that some people feel this way about him.
Me personally have no idea what the truth is. But I do know that he works hard, and has high expectations, so who knows, it could be true. There is no question that he is a perfectionist. I certianly would not want to mess up if I worked for him.

Personally, I think that JB is more messed up in the head than most people. But that is his business, not mine, and it should not be anyone elses. Well I guess except for his shrink.

The individuals who try to capitalize on his name, his reputation, or exploite any unappealing character traits that he may or may not have should be prohitted from publishing material. Writing a book of that nature isn't freedom of speach, it is invasion of privacy.

He's human. Everybody has their share of bad days and going half mad days. But to take that, and probably "embellish" the truth, with the idea of signing a huge book deal, just stinks of bullsh...

I have no doubt that he can be controlling or hard to work for at times. You don't get to be that successful without being partially controlling. But I also have no doubt that the book will have half-truths, and exaggerated stories, to sell more books, and ultimately make more money for the idiot who writes it.

There are always at least 3 sides to every story- each person's version and the truth. While I have no doubt that Jimmy's a b@#&* to work for- really- how many bosses have you had that aren't, and if they were famous, you couldn't write a "tell-all" book about? Good managers are few and far between, especially if they built an empire from scratch.

When he played Wrigley last year I was lucky enough to be involved with the production from Thursday through Monday. I got to talk to a lot of his employees from Chareslton and the rest of the security to some of the guys that travel with him for other things. Some of these guys were just grunts and not in upper management or anything like that. Every one of then told me how happy they were working for him. Naturally I wouldn't have expected anything else but it was their enthusiasm when they spoke about him that convinced me that they were telling the truth.

I have been around long enough to realize that I have not met very many people, in fact I am trying to think of one, who has ever been fired or disciplined where it was their fault.

You can't be around as long as he is without having to fire or discipline employees. All I know from readiing about Hurricacne Katrina, he was very caring about his emplyees there.

The fact that some old employee is using JB's success to write a book about him (negative) is garbage. First, you don't get successful without being a harda*s. Second, this slack a*s probably get canned for not working hard.

I suggest that NOBODY spend a nickle on this book. If you do, you are promoting something that shouldn't matter.

More importantly I could careless about by who and why book is being published....I could careless if Mac is happy working with Jimmy or Nadira gets yelled at from time to time or that Jimmy campaigned for Clinton

I WORK IN MEDIA WITH PEOPLE SOME SAY ARE DIFFICULT... I think anyone as talented and driven as Buffett will be seen by some as difficult. Think back to when you were in school the "difficult" teacher was the one who gave lots of home work and hard tests but, maybe he/she was just trying to get the best out of you. Great people have high standards.. others working with or for them might not share the same high standards and find that the person is difficult. I love when former employees write these books and always have one question for them.. "If it was soooo bad why did you stick around sooo long?".
I will NOT read the book. I like JB the entertainer. I like the way he makes me and others feel when at his shows, restaurants or listening to his music. He isn't difficult to me..
