There weren't any of those weird demands that a lot of celebrities have. I saw one tv show that was specifically on celebrity riders and there were some strange requests. There was one actress (I forget who) who had to have her drinking water a specific temperature.

I found that interesting. Thanks for the post. I thought it seemed quite reasonable to me. Buffett and gang seem like a well fed group of people to me!

12 lb., i dunno if you were disgruntled by this or what, but thanks for the post, that really is some interesting stuff.
some of the stuff did seem kinda extreme (and hilarious -- the frozen snickers bars) until someone made the point that they can't really go shopping for themselves on tour.
as for the degree of specificity jimmy's camp requires... I would if i could!!. I think i'm gonna take this thing as a handbook for one effin hell of a party.

It is interesting....if I were famous and writing a rider....I would make them have 100 boxes of Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies....cold, but not frozen......
I worked with some country acts in the 80's.....they always asked for weird s***....we always did it, it's part of the program.

i can't believe this. i started this thread with NO negative intentions whatesoever. i simply came across this, thought it was interesting, and thought there might be a few people on BN who would think the same. where did i say that i was disgruntled, or angry, or anything else to that nature?
thats all this was, a tidbit of information. i found it insightful because next time i go to a show, i can imagine (with some accuracy) whats going on backstage. some of you automatically thought i was dissing the man. well, you people need to get a life. for those of you that understand why i posted, i hope you enjoyed it.
i said originally that it was probably a repost, but that i was posting it for the many members of BN who have recently joined and do not spend 8 hours a day reading every thread in the archives. but thanks for the 98758439 posts reminding me that it was a repost.
and a big thanks goes out to you peeps who put words in my mouth, and insisted that this thread was mean spirited. like jimmy says, "an a**hole will always be an a**hole"

I think it's less demanding than most, really- I mean, other than towels and hot running water...ToplessRideFL wrote:It just dawned on me.... when I was pulling weeds actually..... this rider is a lot less demanding than some of the tailgate shopping lists I have seen on this board!

okay, so just for fun, what would YOUR rider specify, foodwise?
Mine, if just for me, and if I were going on stage after eating:
Dinner: a seafood pasta dish, salad, fruit pie dessert, unsweet iced tea with Equal on the side, and coffee (make it Kona, what the heck)
Beverages: Shiraz wine and cold Corona. Cold Diet Coke. Bottled water.
Munchies: Cape Cod potato chips (preferably Pepper and Salt), an assortment of spreadable cheese and whole wheat crackers, fresh fruit, and frozen Milky Ways. Maybe a few Godiva truffles; Key Lime, Tangerine, and Grand Marnier.
Next?

Whew, for someone who is so positive...12 lb. nestle crunch wrote:like jimmy says, "an a**hole will always be an a**hole"
Personally, I feel it stems from your thread title. "Demands" is a strong word. "Venue Rider" or "Jimmy's on-site requests" or "backstage party requirements" would sound less, well let's say negative. ESPECIALLY with all the negativity going on already, you seemed to have fanned the flames.
This coming from someone who recently gave mouth to mouth to an old thread. You see, I did this little thing called "search" and found that old thread. And seeing the relativity of it, revived it with a note saying why I revived it.

There have been a lot of new folks join BN since the last time this came up. I don't see anything wrong with reposting it, and 12 lb. never did seem mean-spirited. He just posted something that really is kinda interesting, and, IMHO, is another indicator that JB, while exacting, isn't an unreasonable guy in his expectations.12 lb. nestle crunch wrote:i said originally that it was probably a repost, but that i was posting it for the many members of BN who have recently joined and do not spend 8 hours a day reading every thread in the archives.

As for snacks I would love a good guacamole made with Haas (California Avocados) and hot spinach and artichoke dip with some decent tortilla chips.
And a COLD beer...doesn't matter as long as there is a lime in it.
