............and your point is what? Not sure why we are so concerned with topics about JB contract demands, disgruntled employee books, etc. etc.

WHO CARES. what does all this matter to us fans. All we want is good music, a great time at the concert, and a nice hangover the next day.

The amount of money these venues make of JB, they should be faced with stringent rules.

once again, does anyone really care about this stuff.

its called a rider, and its a standard document for every band whether they're playing 1500 seat clubs or 60,000 seat stadiums.

Jimmy's is pretty tame by comparison, but keep in mind that bands on tour generally don't have the luxury of grocery shopping, so ensuring that venues have the foods and beverages they prefer is just the reality of the life.

Yes, it is a repost. The last time it came up was 1 year ago. Same timeframe, same p*ssed off people. Thanks for rehashing irreverent old news.

These pholks leave their families and homes to come and entertain us. They have been doing this for a long time and I think, have earned the right to ask for what they want. At least they spell it out and people have time to prepare. Personally, I'd love to be the person that ices down the Coronas in Jimmy's dressing room. The man is a legend and I think he's earned the right to be comfortable to prepare to entertain us to the best of his ability. Just my $.02.

I read it awhile ago and found it interesting.....it's human nature to be interested in others....especially others in the public eye. I don't care if JB wants the most outrageous demands....doesn't effect the music and I don't have to deal with it....but it is still interesting....a little glimpse into a person's likes and dislikes.

That site has a whole section of riders and such....was quite interesting (The rolling stones seem vaguely obsessed with white flowers for some reason...again, no skin off my teeth...but interesting.)

read this quite some time ago..sure, it was interesting...but the rockers are the ones that seem to make the most bizzare demands...

I mean, it was interesting and that's about it, I'd probably be the same way...maybe worse.

The V.P.'s "rider" came out in the news this week. Nothing too unusual, except all TVs in his room must be tuned to Fox News.

"Fair & Balanced" LOL

Seems like a pretty fair and straight forward contract rider. Downright polite and family oriented even ("Please make a special effort for the dinner service. This is the time for band and crew to be together and enjoy a home cooked meal that will make them want to stay on the road forever ...".) Every request is framed with a Please. There are no outrageous M&Ms demands, e.g. there is none of the ridiculous "Under no circumstances should the M&Ms candy bowl contain blue M&Ms", etc.

It was interesting to read what each dressing room like to snack on.

And people are interested in reading about other stars. That is what keeps PEOPLE magazine in business after all these years.

Thanks for the post. It just reenforces the fact that Mr. Buffett is human. Seems like a fun time backstage at his shows.

Maybe that explains why ticket prices doubled for this year's shows. That's a lof of grocery shopping for someone!

The bottom line is, when you are not in direct control and responsibilities are designated to another party, you have to be specific to the point of silliness to make sure you get what you want. Could you imagine JB getting a couple of Michelob Ultras iced down in the limo after the show because he wasn't specific enough with his instructions? Talk about a buzz kill!

Venue operators and vendors can't read minds, and quite frankly probably appreciate the specific instructions. That way there can be no finger pointing if someone doesn't do their job as written.

This one is an "old bit" and needs to be put to rest!

I'm new here, first time I've ever seen anything like that before. Thought it was interesting, really. All the people at the venues really have to work hard to make it a fun experience for everyone.

Y'all want to see some real Fruitcakes, peruse that same site, with some of the other performers. Jimmy's wishes and desires won't seem quite as strange then!

AC power in the hospitality room... sure, gotta be able to plug in the blender.
Frozen Snickers bars... OK, I can dig that.
HOW many cases of Corona? I'd love to see the party that happens backstage!

I do wonder who the lone Budweiser drinker is, and the microbrew samplers. Oh, and that Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee - isn't that the preferred brew for the White house?

How true...........I once had the priviledge to be on tour with a famous musician...for a couple of weeks (friend of a friend works for the artist "formerly known as  " :P ). It is a WHOLE other ballgame...it is an absolute necessity to have these things brought in. And for another tidbit...for after the show, I helped order food for the crew. Try calling up Krystal at 11pm and ordering 300 burgers, 100 corndogs, 200 fries....etc. They ask "is this for real?" You just say yep...and here's a credit card to hold the order.......
JB is REALLY tame...compared to THAT artist.

Specifics are always good with these things (as previously mentioned). And, it looks like there's a genuine effort to take good care of his people. I respect that.
